Gah, this is difficult. They were ALL very emotional, in my opinion. Just different emotions.

The one that hit me the hardest was Mordin's. When he finds the female krogan, especially. I had a lump in my throat the size of the derelict reaper. Seeing him go through so many emotions in such a short time was really difficult to watch.

Second is Tali's. I actually cried during hers. I had to pause and collect myself before I could tear into some geth when she found her father. Paragon hug interrupt ftw. Also, the paragon speech Shepard gives to the Admiralty Board was... stunning. Cried again. Damn game.

Finally, Thane. Oh man. Thane's mission was just... so heartfelt. The scene with Kolyat had me in tears (again, egads), and it was just so well done it was almost painful.

Miranda's and Jacob's are close, though.

Tali... seriously, amazing job by the writers and especially the voice actress. I doubt even my Renegade Sheps will be able to resist giving poor Tali a hug. I'll even admit that it brought a tear to my eye, so damn great job BioWare

Jacob. I really didn't like his character at first, but I did this quest early on so it was one of the first times that his actually well written personality showed and it's hard not to feel sorry for him after all that

Jack. it's hard to sympathise with her most of the time but listening to her talk during this mission you can almost see her as the scared little girl whose entire life is filled with people who want to hurt her. was especially emotional since I did the quest just after recieving the email from the I Remember Me girl from ME1

Garrus trumps them all. I was staring at the screen pulling my hair out trying to decide if I'd let him take the shot or not, while the tense music raced with my heartbeat. A real dilema for my ME1 paragon.

Tali, because of the revelations and the heartbreak of the mission, and the support Shepard gives in the trial (if not supplying any evidence from the mission). There was nothing to think about, just stuff to watch while it unfolded, but great stuff all the same.

Mordin, for much the same reason as Tali - great stuff to watch.

My top three would be Tali, Mordin and Garrus, but they were all really good. Well except Zaeed, of course.

1. Tali

2. Samara

3. No idea, possibly Mordin, or Thane, Miranda might have made it to the list as her loyalty quest is pretty emmotional, but i personally don't like her so that kinda squashes it, and Jacks quest somehow fails at the delivery, as the subject is very sad, but it just someow does not tug at my emmotions like other quests do.

1. Tali, definitely. There are so many amazing scenes in that one. When she find her father, when she learns the truth and the speeches you can make at the trial are all great stuff.

2. Mordin, especially the conversation prompted by the dead Krogan.

3. Jack.

Miranda's is a close 4th place, though.

It's been said, and I agree wholeheartedly - All of the loyalty missions were bad-ass in unmitigating ways. Even Zaeed's... no, especially Zaeed's. What's that line of his, commenting on surviving a gunshot to the head? "Rage is a hell of an anesthetic."

They were all excellent, though - And in different ways. Mordin being torn over the genophage, Jack's insistance that she survived because she was tougher than everyone else (even though it was explicitly because Cerberus favored her with their procedures...), Samara spending four-hundred (400!) years tracking down her own daughter...

And Tali's is utterly heart-wrenching, amirite?

Mordin by far. His loyalty quest is why he is my favorite new character in ME2. It added sooooo much depth to not only his character but one of the most important aspects of the Mass Effect lore.

Garrus probably gets second place. I thought I straightened the poor guy up after Dr. Salion but apparently my death put him on a renegade path and I had to steer him paragon again. Plus I really felt like I was affecting his personality.

Tali for third.... flotilla.... father dies... you hug her as she is crying.... nuff said.

Tali, Thane (well I romanced him - he's gotta be #2)...then everyone else at #3! It's too hard for me to fill that third spot.

Garrus - Hearing his voice break up when you force him to not take the shot. Wow. For being a species that face-wise are rather emotionless they sure squeezed everything out of him right there. One of the best experiences in a game ever.

Jack - Hearing her escape story, totally depressing.

Thane - That poor son of his.

Tali, Jack, and Thane.

Legion's wasn't emotional, but that's not what they were going for; It still gets an interesting honorable mention, imo.

Tali and Mordin's were the best, no doubt. Just amazing voice acting and storytelling.

I'd throw in Grunt's also. Reuniting with Wrex and earning the respect of the Krogan people and having Grunt accept you as his battlemaster, good stuff.

1. Grunt
2. Thane
3. Tali

I'm surprised so few said Grunt. The rite of passage, and finding self theme was distinct from the other loyalty quests. And the threshermaw was just epic.

Honorable mention: Miranda
