Theory about Garrus Romance?

Guessing one of the rebuttals (sp?) about this will probably be Jack who seems a LOT more evil then him. Well come on the first sex scene is totally renegade and the second one, it depends on if you're a paragon OR renegade, its different... at least that's what I heard. So that's why Jack can't be used as a counter-point or at least I think she can't. xD. I tend to contradict myself so warn me if I am.
So yeah I think the romance options for Garrus wasn't sided as being Paragon because of that and not only that but his obvious uneasiness / awkward feelings about being with humans in that sorta way. It doesn't mean that Shephard & Garrus can't become a real item come ME3 (unless they decide to kill my spirit and say it was just a fling) it just means that Garrus's doubts and uneasiness about the relationship as well as his persona is being emphasized here in where the choices are placed on the diologue wheel.
PS: When you talk to Mordin it basically solves the "Do they really go at it" question. xD And if you select the most paragon option in the list Shephard specifically states she really cares about him. Come on, the way female Shephard says all her lines it just sounds passionate and more then just a 'friends with benefit' sorta deal.

If I'm correct that is. I don't know how you could construe Tali as anything but paragon.

I never got the Tali romance -yet-, doing a male shephard playthrough. Just figured I throw this idea out there to see what responses it gets. xD

To quote Garrus, you don't make Garrus uncomfortable. Nervous, but never uncomfortable.
So in other words........... he so wants Shephard. <.<
lmao. The game perplexes me in a few ways but in a good way, least it keeps me wondering. Hopefully the theories about him just being a fling isn't true and his relationship builds in ME3 possibly.

You can aim him towards being more Paragon again anyway with his Loyalty quest. Just don't let him shoot Harkin or Sidonis.
Doesn't preventing him from shooting Sidonis make you fail gaining his loyalty? I'm not sure what you can do to NOT get his loyalty except possibly doing that. Wouldn't know, being a renegade I was more than happy to let Garrus take the shot.

You can paragon persuade him to hear Sidonis out. I think there's an option to renegade persuade too, but I definitely got Garrus' loyalty despite not letting him take the shot.
I think that if they're going to let you continue your romance with the LIs from the first game, they'll let you continue romances with Tali/Garrus in the second game. It just wouldn't be fair.

I dare you to turn him down when he brings the wine and turns on the stripper music.Ryouseiken wrote...

Not to mention seducing him at that point is a Paragon Interrupt.

I can't! I mean the poor guy is so adorable. ): *Yeah you guys can all tell what team I swing for lulz XD*
And I'm surprised that it was a Paragon interrupt. Seems more like a renegade interruption considering the way she spoke but then again, fem.shephard tends to sound like that for all the romances I think. xD

Nope. In fact he realizes he's about to make a tremendous mistake, one that he himself wouldn't be able to live with. Basically he is struggling with his need for vengeance, and understanding that this guy can be redeemed.
All that Shepard really does is to help Garrus see what the repurcussion of his actions will be, without really saying a word or twisting Garrus' arm. She/He lets Sidonis say it all.
These type of discussions remind me of morality topics in my psychology classes. Garrus and Shepard hit a high level of morality along the Paragon path. Most of these discussions fall into the average level of understanding. I'd list them, but I really don't feel like digging my books out.
A perfect example of Shepard's high level of morality along the Paragon path is how Shepard goes about hyjacking the Normandy during ME1 and being more than willing to pay the consequences after what was needed was done. The same can be said of Anderson.
As cliché as it sounds, "The good of the many, outweight the good of the few, or the one."
One of the things that has really impressed me with ME2 is how they take that into account, and actually make it unavoidable for many Paragon options (ie: you get paragon and renegade points.) They really did their homework. There's a lot of emotion and a lot of tough choices, which makes for an excellent experience imo.
