Not up close... the scion's switch to melee.  Spam fortification and you are set.  Oh... and it worked for me... so don't try to tell me it didn't.  I was there... you weren't.

One thing, that I can't get is the comparing Jacob to Kaidan is like comparing Ice to water. The thing is, one you don't know how to upgrade him or two you never talked to him. <_<

Shepard has a squad bonus, it's called the "you can't do anything unless I'm alive" bonus.
Try it and see.
Get shot a few times, and your squadmates can't even use medigel on you.

People tend to write him off as boring just because he  is a human male that  is kind of lame........

Because you don't need him then?  Just leave him to run around the field yelling "shotgun" only to be gunned down a couple seconds later... but allowing you to make it to cover?

Believe what you want.Only the shockwave and the blast did damage.Hitting with the arm when they duck happens unintentionally.This isnt a melee attack.

You don't need him on any class. Once you get Garrus, Grunt, Jack or Mordin, Jacob just sits on the ship with aq priiiize.

A soldier with warp ammo doesnt need anyone anyway.

Grunt doesn't have pull field so no he doesn't replace Jacob for me. Concussive shot is a good follow up to pull field. Which is why I tend to team Grunt + Jacob. Jacob is one my most useful characters. Pull + eviscerator shotgun with inferno ammo (not squad) equals win for me. The key is the battle tactics you give your squad. Clearly many don't know how to use a vanguard squad mate.
