Is there anywhere to change the background image? I thought there used to be.
Also, can we change the color settings anywhere, this color scheme hurts my eyes after a while.

Try Profile --> Edit Profile Information ---> Site Theme.

There are a few options, but they all kind of look like this one, so I am not sure they'll help much.
