all armor is bought, alot of it is only available late in the game. there are VERY few weapons in the game...if you got the new handcannon for instance, dont expect anything else in the pistol class. pretty much all of them are from stroy/ recruitment missions; you have to find them in the field, miss it, and yuor screwed. if you want to know specifics, list what you want, ill tell you when and where.

I like the headshot bonus helmet, the shield regeneration chestplate, the damage shoulderpads, the ammo armguards, and the heavy ammo leggings.

Using the least reflective material, with a dark red color and rust camo highlights.

My favorite weapon is the Revenant machine gun. Good fired in pulses at medium range, beastly full auto at close range. What sells it is the huge clip capacity, high ammo capacity, yet normal reload time. I never would have beaten the final boss without it after my Particle Beam ran out of ammo blasting his eyeballs out.

The Collector Particle beam is a beast at any range. It is so accurate you can use it as a shotgun or a sniper rifle if needed.

Favourite weapon: Anti Material Rifle

Special mention to the Cain: It's so damn awesome to firej but bullets are so scarce.

Favourite Heavy weapon: Avalance - rapid fire, Good against everything.

Honorable mention for the avenger assault rifle you start with.

I prefer the Vindicator battle rifle - accurate enough at most ranges to avoid needing the sniper rifle.

Cerberus assault armor is supposedly in the DLC pipe. Hopefully they'll let you talke off the helmet on this one...

For best weapon I'd go with the Revenant LMG, however this weapon MUST have the accuracy upgrade to be of any use at longer ranges. It's really good for a soldier, adrenaline rush then mow down everything that isn't in cover. The reason I rank the LMG over sniper rifles is because of it's huge clip and 480 bullet reserve.

Anti Material rifle is still amazing though, if you like sniping then that's the one to get.

Yep, the Revenant (with the accuracy upgrade) is a beast - particularly in combination with Inferno Ammo.

For precision the Vindicator AR is obviously a much better choice, but after picking up the Revenant (which takes up the assault rifle slot) my soldier uses a sniper rifle (Viper or Incisor) for those long range head shots.

As for armor - the choices are really quite limited if a) you want to be able to see your character's face, and B) you're playing as FemShep where half of the chest, shoulder and arm components available for the N7 armor make her look unattractively bulky.

There are still some great looking combinations though (forgot to take some screenshots of my latest outfit in the session I just played) - and in that department I've decided to settle for looks over the minor stats boosts the various parts offer.

Geth AR deserves a mention too - I plan to do a soldier playthrough [import] where I just use that and take the Widow. Geth AR is amazingly solid.

This.

I took the LMG and discovered you can't get the Widow in a 2nd playthrough, so I'll use this combo instead.

Plus, it gave me some incentive to go back to ME1 and level from 56 to 60 and then import.  ;)

I just picked up the Geth a little while ago, and I'm not super impressed to be honest. It doesn't seem like much of an upgrade from the Avenger, just holds more ammo. It's nice to have for Legion though.

Also, does it have the same silhouette in the weapon selection screen as the collector beam for anyone else? Add that to the fact that they both have similar ammo and it's quite confusing if I have both of them equipped.

I believe it's affected by upgrades, so it's performance should also scale based on where you are in the upgrade paths. I found it to be the next best AR to the Revenant.

How do you get the geth assault rifle? I thought it was a reward for beating the game on insanity.
