Hi everyone!

Before I explain the problem, here's more info on my two PCs.

My Desktop:

OS: Windows 7 x64.
CPU: i7 - 920  @ 2.67GHz
RAM:  6 GB
HD: Western Digital Black - 500 Go.
VIDEO:  ATI Radeon HD4870.
AUDIO: Realtek High Definition Audio Vers. 6.0.1.5859.
DirectX: DirectX 10.0  (Mar2009) or later.

My Laptop:

OS: Windows 7 x86.
CPU: C2D - P8600 @ 2,4 GHz
RAM: 4 GB
HD: Western Digital - 320 Go.
VIDEO: Nvidia 9600 GT O/C @ 700/1765/900.
AUDIO: Realtek High Definition Audio Vers. 6.0.1.5859.
DirectX: DirectX 10.0  (Mar2009) or later.

My two licences are from Steam, both are the pre-ordered DDE.

Now, here's my issue. I experience some video/sound sync problem on my desktop. It appears really well in the intro movie where Navigator Pressly *dies*. The gap time is about 2-3 seconds, which is not really much, but is annoying as hell. Moreover, i have some "unfinished" speech problemes. Some lines said by characters are interupted before the end. It usually cut's off the last 2 words. Nothing major this time, but I can't fully enjoy the dialogs. Comparatively, my laptop seems to have no probleme issues with it.

I've tried isolating the probleme by switching accounts doesn't resolve anything. Thing is, I have no problem while being in action. The Video/Sound Issue appears only on movies or cutscenes.

Last I check everything is up-to-date, BIOS, GFx, Directx. And this problem only occurs on Mass Effect 2, my other games just run fine, even after all that procedures.

I tried verifying the files, didn't work.
Defragmenting my HD, didn't work.
Reinstalled the game, didn't work.
Reinstalled the game and verifying the files, didn't work.
Reinstalled the game and Defrag my HD, didn't work.
Reinstalled the game, verifying the files, and Defrag my HD, didn't work.
Reinstalled the GFX driver, and reinstalled the game, didn't work.
Reinstalled the Sound driver, and reinstalled the game, didn't work.
Unistalled PhysX, and reinstalled it, didn't work.
Reinstalled Direct X, didn't work.

EDIT : Try making more HD Space, didn't work.

Each procedures was followed up by CCleaner and a reboot. So now I don't know what to do. Have you got an idea?

Thank you for helping me,
Sincerely yours,
Allan.

I noticed my intro video was horribly out of sync as some ship was coming upon the Normandy so I closed it...I guess I'll just wait for a patch or two till I can play the game.

Same problem here. I feel like I am watching a bad kung-fu movie, LOL.  Apart from that, the game is awesome!

These are my PC specs:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
MB: ASUS Rampage II Gene
CPU: i7 - 920 @ 2.67GHz
RAM: Corsair 6 GB 1600MHz CL8
HD: Samsung 500GB 7200rpm
VIDEO: ATI Radeon HD4870.
AUDIO: Sondmax Integrated Digital HD Audio
DirectX: DirectX 10.0 (Mar2009) or later.

I hope the issue is fixed soon.

Thanks.

First thing first, I'll try to change my Gfx. Charles Blackberry has almost the same specs as me, except for the motherboard and the HD but I don't think these are the issues.

I'll isolate the case one by one. If changing the graphic card doesn't do anything, I'll try changing my HD.

Here's my output on it.

I'm changed my HD, and it isn't the problem.

Didn't have the chance to change my GFX yet, but I have noticed that changing my resolution change the gap time between sound and video.

There ! I have found a way to resync the video/sound.
Technically there's two issues:

1. It can be a GFX issue as changing from an ATI to an Nvidia change the problem. The thing I didn't understand is, that switching back from Nvidia to the former ATI keep the sync correct.

2. I had my PC returned to its original state before "switching". The sync problem was back.
I read somewhere that EPI-V6 for ASUS Motherboard could be a problem. Disabling it from startup, then rebooting made the sync problem disappeared...

Info :
my ATI card is a Sapphire Radeon HD4870 Vapor-X 1Go.
my Nvidia Card is Asus GeForce ENGTX260 HTDP 896Mo

I hope this help other users, like Charles Blackberry. =)

I'm having the same problem, the intro video is horribly out of sync when it opens up with the normandy and the collector ship fighting. Anyone else have any luck with this?

I'm running Windows 7 64bit, on a Q6600 with 4Gb Ram, Geforce 8800 GTS, Soundblaster X-fi

I also had the issue with the audio not synching on the start cut scene and a few later cut scenes.

I managed to resolve the issue but updating to the latest drivers and turning off EAX from the soundblaster control menu in windows.

I hope this helps!

Same problem here

Nvidia GTX 9800, tried 2 sound cards (onboard realtek & external tascam us-144). Installed latest nvidia driver.

My motherboard is a Gigabyte, don't have the exact type.

I have the last 2 words that are cut from each dialog scene and when I pickup items you have this little popup giving info about it, well it stays on my screen for 0.3 seconds, don't have the time to read it... very annoying !
