I think that they convince themselves that believing that makes them more mature than those who focus only on the body.
It doesn't. Both points of view are immature.
Maturity is present in the appreciation of both body and mind equally.
It's simply a matter of either you like someone's body and mind or you don't. People don't get involved with other people if they don't like one of these parts when they want to be in a real relationship, one that's supposed to be balanced and last.
I'm not saying that someone has to be beautiful, it's more that you have to be attracted to their body as well as their mind for the relationship to work, regardless of preconceived standards of beauty.
