I should warn people, editing the save may cause that save to be unimportable in ME3

I think that depends on how much you edit it no? Something slight like a quick gender switch to start a romance shouldn't break anything.

Actually that would definitely break it since it's outside the boarders of the game (like for example in ME3 there's a confrontation between your ME1 LI and ME2 LI and there'll be dialogue between Ashley and Garrus for example)
Editing stuff like credits or XP probably won't

Weird. I guess the person who activated the gay Kaiden romance most have done something else. It actually works in ME2. XD

Also: for the conflict wouldn't they have had to romance someone in the first one? :?

So that could be avoided simply by being single right?

Guys, I've been asking around for a while.
Is there any way to re-activate the missions? I don't want/have time to restart the whole game, but I'd love to replay some of 'em.

Gahh, ok I need some serious help here. I don't know how to open up the Gibbed.exe file. I have downloaded the file from the given link, opened it with winrar and extracted it to multiple places such as my desktop then the general save file then the saved file that I want to alter. No matter where I place it, when I try to initiate the program it throw up "Gibbed.MassEffect2.SaveEdit.exe - Application Error: The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application."

I apologize if this is an utterly stupid mistake on my part but I really want to edit the hairstyle of my character.

Thanks for the help

I believe that is because you don't have .NET framework installed, thats the typical error if you don't.

Search google for "Microsoft .NET Framework" and download it.

I'm new on this forum, so I don't know you Darth Caine, but where did you get your info?

I had no problem importing my cheat-shepard from me1. The benefit of a import is only to have your backstory, there is no bonus to the game as such - if I'm not mistaken.

If you are right though, even more motivation to play the game again, with two different shep's :)

Where/how did you find the entries for Conrad? I'm loading up my saves, but the most I see is an entry that seems to point to the plot table for ME1, but not actual data points within that table.

alright i am using version 25, just so you know, you click the plot->mass effect 1->Flags. these flags are plot items with check boxes next to them, conrad is further down the list.

hehe i also found out that i needed to over write a save in order to get the modded saves to work didnt know that:D

Question: what are the key things I need to check in order to unlock all party members early? I don't really know what "1st appearance" is or if it's necessary... I think I only need to check "Is Selectable" if I check "Is Acquired" does it prevent you from doing their recruitment quest?

this is all good but how about a ME1 carry over guide? What do we need to do to have a "FAKE" ME1 character in ME2. Or for example if I want to import someone from ME1 but change a few things.

Do I just save the game in the lab at the first save point then edit the flags? Done that and did not work, my choices were not recorded, now do I need to flag the save file as a ME2 end game file then re-inport it in a new game? As in go to RAW, section 4 and select that I ended the game alive?

The changes to ME 1 plot flags only take effect if you start a new game and import the manipulated ME 2 save game.

I just used the save editor to change classes and realised that I would still have my old bonus skill. Is there any way to edit this?

Seeing this title made me picture Jacob sitting Shepards lap. Now there's scotch on my keyboard and that mental image is burned into my brain forever.

So far the gibbed save editor isn't compatible with the xbox saves. They each save to a different file type, the editor only reads the pc save files. So far without a work around the prognosis isn't good, they're just not compatible.

Is there any way to bring your crew 'back to life' in the save editor? I've been playing around with the unlocked RCW version of gibbed's save editor but I've had no success with bringing them back. I need a virtual AED here. Any suggestions?

Did you extract the whole zip file? Because there are two .dll files that the application needs to run and if you don't extract them to the same file as the .exe, it won't run.

"{squadmate name} Acquired" and {Squadmate name} selectable" should be all you need.  This overrides the recruitment missions though, so if you want to do the recruitment missions and have the squadmates you will need to do a bit of a workaround.

Check the "Alternate appearance" boxes of both jacob and miranda.  This will bypass horizon and the collector vessel and unlock Tali's, Samara's, and Thane's recruitment missions.  If you want to play horizon you will have to uncheck miranda's box and leave jacob's checked.  Vise versa unlocks the collector vessel.

Once you have started a recruitment mission, save, exit the game, open Gibbed's save editor and open the save you just created, usually the largest number, and check "{Squadmate name} Acquired" and  "{Squadmate name} in Squad", while unchecking the box for whatever squadmate you actually have with you.

If you want Legion to be in your squad just check his "Acquired" and "Selectable" boxes, you don't need to do anything fancy for him because his Recruitment mission is also a main story mission and is mandatory no matter who you have in your squad.  This is opposed to Horizon which requires you to have the first four in your squad.

Yes. There is a box on the player tab, not in the raw tab, that says, "Player is Female".  Check that and it should change your gender.  That applies for the PC version, I don't know about 360 version.

Why does it matter? Give yourself a few thousand more units of Eezo and use the in game method to change the bonus skill.

Here's what you do:

1. Use Gibbed SE to open the save file of a previously completed runthrough of ME2.
2. Go to the Plot Tab, then to the ME1 subtab, make any changes you want
3. Save the edited save game as either one number higher (ie, if it was Save_0028.pcsav then save it as Save_0029.pcsav) or overwrite the original version
4. Open ME2, go to new game and select import ME2 character
5. Open the save, it will either be called "Save 28" or "Save 29" for the given examples
6. Begin playing the game

Also, any major changes you want to make (like class, name, level, backstory) should be done before beginning a new game.
