If my mission I lost Garrus, Grunt and Jack. It sucked because Garrus and Grunt were possibly my 2 favorite team members. What is the right way of getting through this ok? I've heard there is a right way(legion + someone for the first area, Garrus as the diverion leader, ect). Has it been found what is the best?

Yes it all about loyalty and knowing your teams rolls.

Weird thing is Sumara surived and I hadn't done her loyalty mission.

Everyone loyal, Tali as Tech, Miranda for both Fireteams and Samara as the Shield worked for me. Oh and don't use Zaeed for Fire team leader, it may have been because i sent Jacob off as Escort but i lost him when i used him as the fire team leader. Kinda of funny seeing as i thought that the man who started the Blue Suns would have better leadership then miss perfect scientist.

Technically you only need the armor shield and gun upgrades and 4 of the "right people" loyal.

The right people are Tali or Legion for the Vents

Jacob, Miranda or Garrus as fire team leader anytime.

Any loyal teammate can escort the crew.

Jack or Samara for the biotic barrier.

Then I think you also should bring two of the loyal ones with you for the final battle or the rubble kills them.

For example if you have loyalty for Tali, Miranda, Samara and one other person you could do it.

Actually during my first playthrough I used Zaeed too, thinking the same thing... but the fact is, he's been a solo merc for so long, that he doesn't have any leadership skillz anymore... the 2 top choices for Fireteam are Garrus and Miranda, anyone else... and yer gunna lose a pal. Samara and Jack can put up the Biotic shield and the ending burst that saves a life (I think Jack's Implants must be upgraded for this to be true, but I can't confirm this). And send Tali or Legion into the tunnel. Still haven't figured out why Mordin randomly gets ganked if you don't give him a role, so I sent him back to the ship with the survivors.

NO Jacob works too in place of Garrus or Miranda.

I found out Jack HAS to be loyal. No matter where I put her she dies. Make sure you keep her loyal as she is not as tough as she acts. Miranda will be okay!!!
