I've noticed that several times. Seems most prone to happening during Thane's loyalty quest, where you're following the Turian. Thane's reply often cuts Shepard off before Shep's dialogue even executes. It can even sometimes cause you to miss the Kolyat cutscene. The turian ends up getting capped.

Couple of minor tool tip errors for the 360:



The "replaying a section?" tool tip incorrectly states that you skip dialogue with the 'start' button. It's actually the 'X' button.



The "press right thumbstick" too tip says this will call up the area map. It actually brings up the objective compass.

@ Jayce F: The tooltip for the area map is correct, the controls are just really confusing. When they say "click right thumbstick", they really mean click, as in press and immediately release. That brings up the area map (in areas that have maps). Holding it down brings up the objective compass. I didn't figure that out until 20+ hours into the game...

During the cutscene when the IFF is installed and the ship is attacked, all of the subtitles for Joker will only show for a brief moment before disappearing, making them unreadable.

When talking to EDI at the helm, any time Joker interjects with a comment, the camera does not focus on him and instead points off to the panel above his head.  It seems like the camera doesn't account for Joker sitting and facing the wall.

Is there any solution for new/clean discs being unreadable for no reason yet? That is a game breaking glitch if ever I've seen - It's really bugging me, it won't even allow me to install it onto my HD now.

There seems to be clipping issues in a lot of places to be honest.  I haven't noticed any myself, but I've heard a lot of people saying similar stuff. 

ME1 was probably worse for that tho - I used to get stuck in the galaxy map on the Normandy all the time :D  Luckly talking to Pressly would position you back outside it again.


I walked into the mountain geometry and in addition levitated on the planet with the mechs and shipment of crates.  I had to reload to escape the glitch.

If two of your squadmates have 'squad ammo' powers, they'll continually switch back and forth and soon as their power cooldowns are up. Add this to the list.

Ok, i dont know if someone has noticed this before, but i just finished my 2nd playthrough, and on both playthroughs the following occurd:

Miranda (and perhaps Jacob(never used him)) has 1 squad point more then the rest of your squad. I have the Collectors Edition of the game, but my roomates have the regular version and the disks look the same so that shouldnt matter.

But let me give an example: in both games (first game i imported a lvl 60 ME1 char therefore i got to lvl 30 on the first run) at level 30 miranda had: Heavy Overload, Heavy Warp and class skill at level 4 and the 1 free point in slam for being loyal. Now take Thane: Heavy Warp, class skill maxed, 1 point in Shredder ammo for being loyal and 3 points in Throw. And 3 squad points left. Meaning he has the same setup as Miranda, but with Miranda i was able to choose the 3rd base skill at lvl 4, but with Thane i wasnt able cause i needed 1 more point for that. With Thane the only way to get 3 powers evolved was to take his shredder ammo to the max, due to the free point.

So either Miranda is bugged for having 1 extra squad point, or the rest of the characters are bugged for have 1 squad point to less.

Also excuse my sometimes bad english, not my native language and especially spelling is a problem :)

Even if you turn squad power usage off, they still do this.  It seriously makes squad ammo on shepard worthless, as any of the other characters with an ammo power will keep trying to re-write your ammo power with theirs, even if yours is obviously better, and if *they* have squad ammo they'll keep overwriting *your* ammo power in the middle of combat.  It's extraordinarily frustrating, especially on Insanity where using the right kind of ammo for the right situation is very important.

Here's another possible carry-over bug. I just replayed ME1 and chose the Renegade option for the Helena Blake mission and she ended up staying as leader of the pirate groups. However, in ME2 she was now a social worker. But that's the paragon option (to get her to quit). She specifically mentions Shepard convincing her to give up her life of crime, which I didn't do. So yeah, confused.



Anyone else experience this?

Grunts special ability won't activate after completing his loyalty mission. His status says loyal. There are points that can be placed into "FORTIFICATION", but the bar stays gray and can't be accessed.



Reloading/replaying the "The Rite" fixed problem. Just irritating to have to replay an entire sequence to work around a bug.

I've done 2 playthroughs. The second was in preparation for Mass Effect 3...how I'd choose the storyline. Unfortunately, I've been plagued with the Miranda/Jack bug both times even in high paragon!



I've done Jack first BOTH times...but the original author seems to think that's the only way. I'm just going freaking nuts how I can spend hours upon hours just to get boned by a glitch.



I'm willing to do it again but I want to know how or if it can be done right. Can anyone tell me a bug free way to getting both their loyalty?

It appears I was looking at the wrong picture -_-,
For some reason I thought it was that black sort-of-a-picture on the desk near the bed.
It appears correctly on the display between your achievement viewer and the commander's console.

Yep, that one really naffs me off. I don't think its an actual "bug" though. I remember when I played Guild Wars you had the option to deactivate individual skills of your henchies. That would be a nice option in stead of the all-or-nothing deal now.

During my second playthrough, I get the "heartbeat" sound on EVERY load screen.



Didn't happen during playthrough #1. Second playthrough is a different import character than the first playthrough.

Dont know if this has been addressed but there is also a bug when starting a New Game +. Basically, you'll go through the destruction of the Normandy as normal, Shepard dies, but then when the loading screen with the X-Rayed skull pops up, the game will freeze. I've noticed this happens more if you finish one playthrough and immediately begin another. What seems to have been working for me so far is when I finish one playthrough, I dashboard out (Xbox) and restart from the Xbox main menu. As I said, seems to "work around" this glitch so far.



And just as a "matter of fact". It seems there are TONS more game breaking glitches in ME2 than there ever were in ME1. In fact, I cant recall EVER encountering any of the ones mentioned in ME1. Not even the infamous Feros Elevator bug. But it seems in this installment, you cant walk 50 paces w/o finding some sort of bug or game crashing event. I seriously hope this isnt a clue of things to come in ME3. Otherwise, (I hate to say it too because I like BW's work) I will probably stop having anything to do with BioWare/EA at the conclusion of ME3 if it IS the case. Im seriously worried that by using ME2 as a guide for things to come, that ME3 is going to be neigh unplayable lol.

It's still something that needs to be fixed in a patch.  Either make it so that squaddies won't use their ammo powers if one is already active on them, or just make it so they don't use them at all.  They last indefinitely (till the end of the mission in theory, but they reset sometimes at zone changes) so I don't really need my squaddies to have the ability to change ammo, and the way it is now makes a lot of ammo powers basically useless.

I suspect it comes down to me using Jack most of the time, and me and her have the same ammo power. So it never became an issue.

This is getting real old with Samara’s loyalty mission and the sound suddenly vanishing. It seems to be a random glitch with it working some days and not on others. Does anyone know if they will get a patch for this on the X-Box 360 (I play the game on the 360) or if it affects the PC version as well?


Not really a bug or glitch but just sloppy game manual development. Go to the bottom of page 18. Is that all the manual has for the description of Deck 3 is in one line? Also there is no mention at all about Deck 4 on the next page it just skips to an appendix about mini games.

Lol! I wish I could take a screen shot of this one.
While doing Zaeed’s loyalty mission I took Samara and we went in to save the workers. I’m not sure when it happened, probably during one of the jump down spots but when I turned around to take a quick look behind me she is now walking about 3 feet of the floor.

A couple of things I've noticed so far.

When Samara is fighting Morinth there is a scene where the dialogue just goes silent even though the  text keeps up and it's oibvious they're still speaking.

Also, Garrus' uniform doesn't change even when selecting the loyalty uniform.

Ok I’m sick of this buggy game.

Used a ME1 import Female Shepard. Final battle through the collector base:

-During the long walk at the second (think it was fought some husks) and Miranda and Samara (Jack is my biotic) I find out that both of them are standing there looking at each other completely ignoring the fight and any orders.
-Against the reaper sound gets buggy and drops an volume. Now with Jack and Miranda. During the fight Jack stands around not doing anything just like above.

-In Jacks loyalty mission (this happened in 2 games now) when you run into the pack of varens I find myself fighting them alone because my other teammates are stuck near the entrance of the room.

-On the N7 MSV Strontium Mule, buggy AI again on teammates as you go up a level and they “get lost” someplace else, yet again leaving me to fight alone.

-Legion tells you that you can choose what defense guns to activate in the (main fight room near the end) and you don’t get to choose to activate any of them? The only turrets I can activate are the two on my level after combat has begun.

Is it just my X-box 360 copy of the game that is this way or is ti the whole game that’s messed up.

I don't know if anyone posted this but there is a glitch with the blackstorm gun and the colossus on Haelstrom. If you shoot it at the colossus it will do damage, but when the singularity explodes, it will make the colossus float into the air and stay their like it is still on the ground. I don't know if this can be fixed, but would be nice.

This happened just a little while ago. I had already done Tali's loyalty mission. She and Legion got into their argument at the end of Legion's loyalty mission. I chose to destroy the Heretic Geth and those points were enough to put me at 100% Renegade, yet the Renegade option in the argument was grayed out.
