I recently completed the main questline for Soldier's Peak "Soldier's Peak" and I have not completed "Ancient History" -- however, when I leave Soldier's Peak and come back, I am no longer able to enter the keep. The door is no longer interactable.

Same here. I am hoping it opens up. I have gone off and done a number of major quests, still can't get in.

this isn't a bug it's just an unpopular design choice. Hopefully someone mods it or they change it.

Anyway, you have to talk to Avernus to get out. And once you leave the keep, you can never return or speak to Avernus again.
