I loved the rest of the game (except planet resource gathering) so don't take my comments as to mean I didn't love the game, because I loved it.

Do people forget that Mass Effect 1 ended with us fighting a mechanical frog zombie? In the end, I really could care less what the end boss looks like. As long as there is some sort of explanation for it, which there is. Gameplay trumps story sometimes. They want the final fight to be big, so they made it big.
Big final fight? Squatting behind a box and going PEW PEW when he's not PEW PEWing at you is big game play? I agree the game play of the last boss in ME1 wasn't spectacular, but at least it flowed well into the story. You chased down Saren through the whole game. It makes sense to have to kill him in the end.
In ME2 you chase the Collectors and end up fighting a gigantic terminator? Where did that come from? If it was a life sized terminator with Sovereign's memory core I wouldn't have made this post, but a GIGANTIC terminator who's eyes are it's only weakness?
All I'm saying is the writing was good up until that.

To be fair, it wasn't fully "developed". Like a fetus.Shoko86 wrote...
Yeah... a huge Human reaper floating in space compare to the other reapers does seems silly.

I thought he was silly, but only because after all this time you end up with a boss that has the classic glowing red KILL ME buttons all over his body.

Yes, it was ridiculous. If it had been a half-built Sovereign-style reaper, that would have been awesome though.
Exactly my point... There are a million and one other things they could have done that would have made a lot more sense.

Personally, I'd have gone with less far out, or even WAAAY more far out, take the extreme angle. If they really wanted to make it some wild god-like human thing, they should've made it huger, add some mythological twist (or even religious if they felt brave enough) to it that would've seriously made you go, wtf?
LOL... I just pictured a GIGANTIC old guy with flowing long white hair and beard. The origins of God.

They have a reason as to why the reaper was created, mix of synthetic and organics to mimic the civilization they created it from, so I don't think its ridiculous.

First time I saw it it made me thing soverign was modeled after a protheon face with all those squid tentacles but then I rembered sovierign was alot older then the protheons. It seems most reapers share the same shape as well, why they would divert this in ME2 needs some splainin imo.
Its been discussed on other threads: The reapers made it look human because a human killed a reaper, seemingly a "god" in their(the reapers) eyes.
