The last boss was not a challenge at all either. I just stayed behind cover and incinerate spammed him. Hit it right between the eyes with a cain too, was funny. Aside from moving from one side to the other the occasional harbinger spawn was the only real threat.

I could handle its terminator resemblance.

I could handle its explanation for existence.

What I couldn't handle was that it was a generic "THIS IS MY WEAK SPOT PLEASE SHOOT IT" boss, harking back to the days of Nintendo 64. All the immersion just crashed and burned as Arnold's stupid face crawled itself out of that pit and started Arcade Bossfighting me.

How the hell does destroying the eyes of a giant robot hurt it anyway?

When I create a giant robot I'm leaving out the red self destruct buttons  left on the face for the heros convience, The world would be utterly ****ed then.

The last boss was spectacularly crap, i actually laughed out loud when i saw it.

Of all the things they could have done, they went with the most generic arcade-style super robot. My general feeling is that the Mass Effect team are really starting to run out of ideas, i hope they make good with the final installment. This game felt rushed i think.

I'm not just blindly hating on the game though, i still enjoyed a lot of it, but they really did made some stupid design decisions.

I loved the game.

The game did not have a giant robot at the end.

There are only three Indiana Jones movies.

There is no Star Wars prequel trilogy.

I loved the game.

First time I saw it it made me thing soverign was modeled after a protheon face with all those squid tentacles but then I rembered sovierign was alot older then the protheons. It seems most reapers share the same shape as well, why they would divert this in ME2 needs some splainin imo.

Its been discussed on other threads: The reapers made it look human because a human killed a reaper, seemingly a "god" in their(the reapers) eyes.

Ok that's an explanation but keep in mind that the Reaper's are a highly developed AI, or at least they were until EDI said they were a life for made up of a mix of organic and in organic material.  An AI would tend to look at things in a matter of efficiency first, similar to the way the Geth have been depicted thus far.   You may counter with this was being created by the Collectors.  I say keep in mind the Collectors are controlled by the Reapers.

Now you might say "The Geth have a generalized human appearance, four appendages and a head", but I counter with just because something is efficient at one scale doesn't mean it is at another.  To me, a human form wouldn't have been efficient at the scale that they presented and thusly the  That's why I would not of had a problem with the end fight if you fought the same boss at a human scale.

Again, I have no problem with the idea, they just screwed the pooch on implementation.

I dunno. Once you realize that Husks themselves are single processes of Reapers, the end boss seems quite logical.

The only thing not logical are the weak spots.

But then again, Tali spends the entire game shouting "Go for the optics!"

I think the boss is supposed to show the flaw in the reapers... Which I won't divulge my suspicions

I didn't really get it either. I thought it was kinda weird. But I thought all the Geth were bad till I got Legion...now he is my favorite person. I wish we would have gotten him earlier. I'm guessing that in ME3 it will all make sense....if it doesn't....then IDK.

Never has "Go for the Optics!" sounded truer in that moment...Tali called it as soon as the battle kicked off Image IPB

I liked the ending. I would have preferred more attacks so the Reaper could have been fully formed. Then go for the optics………

It was okay for a story standpoint, not that we weren't all expecting it to one degree or another, and I would have prefered something that involved the husk/indoctrination more... Kind of like a husk army, possibly made to overthrow the citadel and bring back the reapers? It would have also been cool to fight Harbringer at the end, have him unravel the curtain on the husk, indoctrination, and how the humans are "different", maybe having something to do with the Prothean experiments on Mars.

The thing is, the last boss fight just didn't...fit. If it was a half-built Sovreign, that would have worked, but the terminator human was kind of cheesy. For one, is way too easy to take down and two, how the heck is it going to fly?

Other than that, the rest of the game rocked

Size Wise.... Ridiculous...

If i Managed too take down a Reapers Guiding intelligence ON-FOOT.... as a human sized target.... then a Giant Human is Obviously Better.................

What next? i suppose the next Reaper will be a Giant Gun.... as i used one too kill the Human Reaper?....
/end Sarcasm

Overall though not bad. Kinda reminds me of Mundas from DMC.... he just Refused too die.
I dont know.... Maybe it was a Gundam?

If you have the art book for the Collector's Edition, you can see the various concepts Bioware played around with for the Human Reaper. Most of them look much more "reaper-esque" than the final design. One looks like a giant foetus. Another looks like the current upper torso grafted onto the underside of the classic cuttlefish design.

Remember that this Reaper is in an extremely early stage of development. Who knows what the rest of it would have looked like.

I thought it was a pretty cool fight, but I was on insanity, and one of the first things that happened to me was I got hit by one of his red beams and it killed me in one shot while I was on cooldown. Maybe that made it seem more awesome.

I didn't like the last boss. Felt kind of cheap. Even if they tried to justify it. And the justification didn't fit with the setting either.
