Man, this guy is a freaking genious. Hes 100% correct on every point except maybe his suggestions to fix the problems.

I wish I could have worded my complaints half as well as he did.

I generally use this rule of thumb: if someone says anything negative, and preface or end it with something like "go ahead and do/say "insert negative directive or opinion here", it usually doesn't have anything constructive to say.

The guy also blasts the game itself on half his points because of how it plays on the PC. Those "problems" do not exist on the majority of the copies of the game people are playing.

The only point he kind of has credit with is the predictable fight one. You can always tell when you're about to throw down. That's something I want to see improved on in ME3. Everything else is nit-picky.

Are you joking right, the guy CLEARLY gave his opinion on how ALL the issues could be SOLVED.
Read all the "Mass Effect 3" which is HIGHLIGHTED for dummies.

While I don't care much about the language part, I agree with everything else in that article. Especially with this:

By considering Mass Effect 2 a perfect RPG, when it obviously isn’t, you justify mediocrity and ensure that more will follow.

I read about many changes in ME 2 and was worried. I still bought the game because I hoped and anticipated that BioWare would come through again and deliver a masterpiece, like they always did. But this time they simply went too far, cutting corners, trashing important elements and dumbing down the whole game at too many points. It was a commercial success, that much is obvious, so mission accomplished I guess. Just how many gamers will preorder the next BioWare game? And how many will rather wait for the reviews and not bother if the game falls short again? And what if there's better shooters and more flashy looking casual games available then? The mass market casual gamer isn't exactly predictable or reliable, is all I'm saying. Alienating and ignoring long years faithful fans isn't the wisest move, I think.

I really enjoyed the game. It's right up there in terms of some of the best single player games I've played.

Is there room for improvement? Sure!

Do I think the author of the article is looking to draw attention to himself by being different? Yup!

Are ME2's "flaws" going to stop me and a ton of other fans from purchasing all the ME2 downloadable content and ME3? Not a chance!

Keep making great games Bioware!

ME2 is a game for the casual gamer, the game has no reward for doing a mission besides the "mission complete screen" and story goes forward.

We complete a N7 mission and get absolutely nothing beside some credits. Upgrades could be acquired by completing these missions Bioware! not just by talking to a character.

It also has brainless decisions, like the Normandy 2 upgrades. Who the hell won´t buy some cool cannon or armor for the ship? an upgrade for the planet scanning? hell ya.. waiting for the upgrade to get  EDI do some scanning for me instead =].

The medical bay upgrade, so many uses for it but Bioware lets us fix our face, cool bro, what about adding some injuries to squad members? like in DA:O for example, or why not making a new face plastic surgery for Shepard if the player wishes?

I´m mad because the game had so much potential and its wasted. :pinched:
