I have a dual core amd 6000+ processor 3.11 ghz
geforce 250 gts video card
sound blaster x-fi pci-e
4 gb installed memory
windows 7 64 bit

I have attempted to install Mass Effect II at least 10 times.  Every time it locks up the computer and i have to power down and restart.  I have run the install program in winxp service pack 3 mode.  I have disabled all running programs  as well as virus and maleware programs.  As of now i am only frustrated.  I hope that will change

I've had a similar problem on a single core though. What are the steps? Does it lock-up after installing Disc 1 or during or after the install is near completion? Are you using disks or DLC?

I gave up on my disc and did a successful download of the game via EADM.
