I've now wasted 10 000 units of Element Zero, first for just testing to get Zaeed's ability, and I got nothing. Second time to just see if there were new abilities available back when I still didn't understand the loyalty requirement. The second time I was presented with the same menu, with the same single Zaeed's skill option, and no way to back up to the previous menu and cancel my choice.
BOTH times, the action overrode my autosave AND quicksave, so that I was stuck with 5000 less element zero. As that stuff is as rare as it is, I've skipped the whole training part completely now that it seems I don't get any skills anyway.
I suggest an ability to at least back off the menu, and at LEAST not overwrite the savegames as you make the choice. The loss of 10 000 eezo was so costly I don't even dare try researching that anymore, as I simply cannot afford throwing down tons of the game's rarest mineral down the toilet in case the savegame overwrite applies to actual manual saves too.
Second, I can't post this on general ME2 boards because I can't seem to be able to register my game. Steam puts me to an EA page here: https://ea.onlineregister.com/, where the registration game list only has ME 1. I registered that (something I've done before a year ago already) and still didn't get access to the forums. So it can't be that. There's another link there in case I can't see my game on that page, which directs me to another EA registration page, which doesn't *even* have ME1. That page also contains a link in case you can't find the game, which bounces me back to the first link.
So TLDR:
1) How is advanced training supposed to work? Because right now it just serves as a self-handicap for spending Element Zero on less than thin air.
2) How do I register the game on Steam?
Other than that, the game's friggin amazing.
