Thank you big yam, and mightyg, very detailed. Thinking of doing it one and one. Explosive for legion, attack for tali.
Thanks for the feedbac.

it's useful to use as a distraction

I would pick an attack drone + dominate as advanced skill. I think that combo could work great for an engineer on hardcore/insanity.

I had both Legion's and Tali's Drones evolved - Legion's for Explosive and Tali's for Attack. I wasn't an Engineer but loved bringing them both with me, especially on Tali's loyalty mission. I did that on Insanity, and both Drones had their uses. Attack dealt damage and took down shields more quickly, but I think Explosive kept them distracted longer and gave them a good bang at the end.
Throw some AI hacking in there and it's fun and easy... and very comical! I can't wait to have those two with me at the same time when I play an Engineer.

If its on 360 then use the Squad points glitch. If not the combat drone is pretty good helped me a lot during my insanity play through.

hehehehe yes I am.
So your suggesting, exploding drones for tali and legion?
I'd personally recommend exploding drones for both if your playing insanity just cause they usually get blown up before they hit much. Plus they still sap shields with their attack if they do hit, so you still have the benefit of not having to switch between disruptor and incendiary ammo as much (especially if you micro the drones so they deploy in the middle of groups, PEW PEW Chikktika go BANG! Eveyones shields are down

i get it to level 2 then forget it until any other powers are filled out. if i end up with 7 pts not better spent elsewhere, i'll bump it up to explosive. this goes for myself and Tali/Legion.

Personally I love the combat drone. My main character is my techy Japanese Femshep, and I love my exploding drone. It doesn't do alot of damage when attacking, but it's a GREAT distracter for things like Harbinger and Heavy Mechs, and with the exploding drone branch it does decent damage when it dies.

it's ok, mainly for distraction. Worst bonus power, though. So bad, that they give it to your squadmates. Which other "class-exclusive" powers can your squad use? None.
That drone needs to be able to give and recieve more damage for it to shine.

For AI Hacking & Dominate though, I find it's better not to evolve the power. If you add any squad points beyond level 1, you end up giving your target shields. If the target lives past the hacking/dominate timer, you'll have to strip those defenses again - and what's worse, you can't hack/dominate them again until they are left with only a health bar.
Unfortunately, I think Legion requires two ranks of AI Hacking to unlock the drone
