Leliana's romance was sweeter then Morrigan's because its more obvious that she wants to be with you, and if you survive the finale then you can travel with her at your side. And if you die...well its really sad.
i've yet to complete a play through as a female warden, but i'm sure it will be fun with Alistair and Zev.
I was surprised that i enjoyed the romance in DA, more then ME (which without an approval system was kind of lame), since the first ME had such great character development. oh well, i guess Bioware can't get it perfect all the time.

I love all the characters. They each have their flaws, but my favorite to romance is Zevran. He's got such a wonderful story and it all comes out as you get closer and closer to him. But at the same time I hate turning Alistair down for Zevran. Damn you Bioware for making me choose...I want my cake and eat it too! (even though the cake is a lie!) *angry fist*
Knowing both the romances the way I do, I have no problem choosing Zevran. However, Alistair IS compelling. It's nice you can finish his romance first, get all the squee, then dump him for Zev, and get even MORE (and IMO better) squee. <3
I find that impossible. It was way to gutting the way it ended with Alistair on that playthrough. I kept the endgame, though. Maybe my PC will be ready to move on by 'Awakening.'

Ohoh, you haven't seen gutting until you break it off with Zevran after he falls in love. NOT an experience for the faint at heart, or for the first time at that romance for even the most hardened gamer!
It really is THAT bad . . .

tell you what a game that is revolved around singleplayer, the communities are the best
i have to admit i am utterly charmed by Lelaina and i dont think on another Charactrer any of the relationships will mean as much, infact the other's will probally just be for the achievmants Lelaina will always be my number one whenever i speak to her i always finish the conversation with the line "Your the best thing thats ever happened to me" and when in camp kiss her for no reason lol i really liked the playfull development with her and seeing as im playing a female PC it was very intresting, the way it seemed to go was Lelaina wasnt sure wheather another woman would like her or not and then said woman did and.... oh god im getting carried away the chemestry and development was just amazing and it added a great underlying story to the game, have yet to see what the final cutscene will be, will i travel with lelaina like i said? or not... i hope i do. and hear Lelaina's song not long ago it was a cutscene sort of thing, it was beautifull IMHO Lelaina is the best companoin

I won't know which is my favourite until I finish them all. But so far, it looks like an interesting and engaging (and sometimes frustrating; aaargh, bugged out dialogue trees) part of an already great game.

Seeing as how I could never get him to acknowledge my character was actually female, no.
He's not a romance option.

Agreed
She is ... alot different if you romance her as a male pc though... very jealous If you do anything with Morrigan. "YOU WADED THROUGH HER SWAMP!" *angry face* I never got the angry face as a girl, oh wait i did once when i was still choosing between her and alistair and i accidently sort of kissed him infront of her and she was like "oh don't mind me"
>.> the dialogue you get with her if you do zev as a dude is so funny too "What is it they say? You should try everything once insept incest and Qunari cuisine" >.> my male pc is such a **** xD

I think the romances in DA:O was lacking a bit, i've played other games with better romances(and longer), but those games focused on it a lot though.
The series Harvest Moon have some very well-done romances which i've always loved the games for.
The romances in this game was okay, it had it's moments but they were simply to easy to accomplish.
I had to smile at that, Harvest Moon is a vegetable growing company where I live.

Um you aren't the only one lol... But if I was to put Alistair up as my wallpaper my fiance might start asking questions lmao... I've still not been able to do Zev's romance cause I'm too hooked on Alistair n I've had 3 different playthroughs... Each 1 before I start I keep telling myself we'll do the Zev romance but when it comes time to get Zev my character's already hooked on Alistair lmao... What's interestin to me though is it's not Alistairs looks, it's his personality, shyness, he's got a certain charm n innocense that I seem to like lol, (I dated a guy that looked almost like Alistair but he def didn't have his personality)...
Edit: As far as Leliana n Morrigan when I played a male pc my character was more for Morrigan, she was more of a challenge n I don't know why but I really don't care for leliana n I can't exactly say why cause I don't know but there's something about her that rubs me the wrong way lol...

Secondly for Female characters you need to let Sten and Oghren be viable romance options. I'm sure alot of girls want to exprience the Qunari mating rituals, or help Oghren grease up the ole' bronto if you know what I mean.

Well try the Zevran romance at least once! It's not for everyone, but it's surprisingly amazing in my opinion. It's become my favorite, easily.
Actually, when I first heard about romances in the game I had a "psh, so what?" attitude. I've never really cared much about romances in games before, and I wasn't expecting much from the character development. But I was pleasantly surprised- the characters are great and their emotional growth is quite astounding! I still have plenty more to try out, as well. In the end, I'm really happy how well the romances fit into the game- I don't feel like they're forced or that they hold back the story. If anything, they really help the story progress emotionally.

The best part about the whole thing is that my boyfriend, who mocked me for an entire month when DAO first came out is now on his 4th playthrough and we had the following conversation via text the other day:
Him: So, Tanaka finally tented Zevran.
Me: How did that go?
Him: They seemed to have a good time. I was even nice afterwards.
Me: Right. A true gentleman.
Him: Alistair's talking to me about lamp posts now...
Me: Yeah, that's a dead end. Besides, he would only break your heart.

Hehe, that made me giggle. Leliana does sound a little ridiculous when you describe her like that, doesn't she?

The romances in this game strike me the way a really good television show or movie does, only it's slightly more personal. I've played all of them but Morrigan's (my female PC's all love her so much, I'm afraid she'll wreck the first male I have romance her) and they all have their moments that make me feel embarrassingly giddy.

Except my boyfriend... Who will despise Alistair (and probably rage about how he can't kill him), kill off Zevran at the first chance, leave Leliana in the dust at Lothering, and probably romance Morrigan (especially easy since he plays really evil characters) but not care when she turns on him...
He's so heartless in games.

Haha mine too. I really enjoyed the development of the romances over time with Alistair and Zevran, and seeing how different the 2 characters reacted to being in love, etc. I would love it if there were this much romantic development in Mass Effect so I didn't have to feel like I was just making my way through the crew...
