I honestly don't think we need a single new squadmate in ME3

In total, including those from ME1 and 2, we have 16 characters that Shepard has already joined the trust and loyalty of. And they all know how to handle a gun pretty well too. Does Shepard really need to recruit more? I don't want to see an entire new cast in ME3. I don't want a new handful of replacements when we have so many that don't need to be replaced. I want to see these 16 characters that we already have become more fully developed, as opposed to being pushed aside like the majority of the ME1 cast was for ME2.

If we have another 10 new squaddies in ME3, I'm just gonna be pissed. Anybody else with me here?

I agree for the most part, I wouldn't mind one or two new people, but other than that, i want party members to be strictly returning ones.

Yes. We do not need a brand new squad. At most, 4 new characters. But I would prefer the Virmrire survivor, Liara and the surviving members from ME2 only. If you did well in ME2, then you are set. If you did poorly, then you are rightfully punished.

I'd be fine with minimal new squadmates, but there has to be at least some allowance for players who got most of their team killed off. So assuming Kaidan/Ash/Liara come back, we'd need a few new faces.

But all I care about is getting Tali and Garrus back as squadmates. As long as that happens I can handle any other team losses. Though I'd love to keep em all.

It's a Bioware game, of course there's going to be a smack tonne of new characters to recruit otherwise it just won't be the same.

Yes, I completely agree. I would be extremely disappointed if they ditched the characters that we know and love. I want more Miranda, Thane, and Garrus!

People would complain. A lot of people would... There's definitely going to be at least 2-3 new people.

Bioware are really going to have to choose whether to favour the fans or the newbs.

Mass Effect 2 had a new squad for that reason pretty much, limit the "wtf who is this?" factor for the new guys.

I'm seriously hoping that we see most of the past characters back. I'd be seriously let down otherwise

If I can't have Miranda as a squad member in ME 3 I'll be po'd considering I cheated on Ashley for her....

I understand the need for new people, but I am just too attached to my current squad. I would be really upset if they at least didn't bring back all of the possible LIs as characters. Plus, some of the characters are unfinished development wise in my eyes, like Thane- is he going to die? Can we cure him? And Legion and Tali clearly have further development that could be discovered...

Definitely agree as well. I think BG2 handled it beautifully and they should do the same thing - a return of most of the main, beloved cast with a few new faces to spruce things up/give people who took alot of losses replacements.

I also would like to keep the same characters. The new people can just learn who the squad members are as they're the ones coming in at the end of the trilogy.

Keep everyone that survived and offer a few more crew members to recruit. However they should be optional not required.

Personally, I would like it if Bioware gave us a bunch of Spectre teammates in ME3. It'll be the perfect time for them to work together. Some previous characters could be recruitable, but it would be preferable if they made cameo appearances or controlled squads or fleets that may be in ME3. Kaidan/Ashley would represent the Alliance, Jacob/Miranda could represent Cerberus, etc., etc.

Anyway, looking forward to Spectre teammates and possibly even... Blasto?! =O

I think new Squadmates that were previous NPCs we have seen would be fine... like Aria, Shiala, Sha'ira, Gianna Parasini, Emily Wong, Lizabeth Baynham, Matriarch Lidanya... but definitely have the option to recruit all surviving squadmates from ME1 and ME2 baring political fallout.  Like Wrex might as well be dead.

I think Liara is pretty much a certain squardmember in the third game, since she is the only one who is sure to survive both ME1 and ME2.

Even though i would like to see Garrus and Tali, as well as some of the ME2 for ME3, i think it will be very hard to do so, because you can have 4-11 squaddies from ME2 surviving, either Kaidan or Ashley surviving, Wrex dead etc. A lot of variables.

If all the squadmembers from ME1 and ME2 are going to be fully integrated into ME3, then the game would fill 50 GB, but only take 10 hours to complete because of the many variables concerning surviving squad members. Either that or BIoware will pull of a game with insane replay value, since most games will not contain the same squad members.

Agreed, though I want my ME1 squad back!

Edit: Liara mainly. Ash, Kaiden, and Wrex aren't coming back. However, I agreee with the above post. Liara is the only character from the entire trilogy that was guarennteed to survive through the first 2 games. Everyone else could have died.

It will be cool to get to know some new characters, though I also hope all the cool ones from before return. Especially Wrex! Grunt was acceptable but no where near as cool or smart.

Agreed. I hope in the next game we can have a team with all of the old guys. I love the new ones, but not having Wrex fight by my side was depressing in ME2.

i say it depend on what you dwhen you talk with TIM at the end of the game if ashley/kaiden join you in me3 if you quit cerberus they join if you take over the dont seems simple to me for thoose 2 wrex has the krogans so he wont be in your squad i think liara will be your contact liason with her contact as a info broker and use her contacts with other races so you can get them to join together to fight the reapers but your main team is your squad from me2 hence why you recruited them all and the last part of the game where they are prepping for looks like a fight

Not only do I like the idea of squad mates from 1 and 2 returning, I don't think it would be easy to put in many more new ones and give them the amount of dialogue they deserve, hence only keep what we have!
