When I play, my computer sometimes freezes and the sound loops, mostly during The Dialog Sections.
I already think I have the reason. A RealTek Onboard Soundcard. The thing has ruined many a game before this one, so I've bought a Soundcard, (C-Media), and deactivated the RealTek driver. This doesn't stop ME 2 from "seeing" the RealTek driver/card and thus chopping, but I cannot remove the Onboard Card and Windows Vista will install upon reboot if I remove the driver (REAL clever mr. Gates for making a Program where you cannot remove something permanently).
BioWare suggests using the Configuration Tool to change the Setting from "Hardware Sound" to "Software Sound", but alas, that option isn't in the menu on the Configuration tool.
If anyone could help me with this, they can take my sister on a date and I'll even foot the bill.
If they can help me remove that acursed RealTek driver...PERMANENTLY !!!!, you can take out my Sister and her hot friend and I'll Still pay the bill.
I have a nagging feeling that the C-Media Card might also not be supported, but one thing at a time.
Martin
**EDIT**
Just ran DXDIAG and the C-Media card is identified as the sounddriver, but the card isn't identified, (IE. what specific type of card it is).
