Hello,

I've been playing ME2 fine since it was released up until today. I have the steam version.

Whenever I try and launch it now, though, I simply get "Mass Effect 2 Has Stopped Working".

I have tried deleting the Mass Effect 2 folder from My Documents, but it made no difference.

Specs:

Windows 7 32-Bit
Radeon HD4850 512MB
Core 2 Duo 6550 @ 2.33GHz
4GB DDR2

There is a thread on the Steam Forums about this:
http://forums.steamp...=1#post13321600

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

I posted earlier about my issues with the Steam DDL version with a DXDiag and the error details from the reliability monitor in 7. I've been getting it not at the launch, but every few minutes in game. I just had it blow up in my face at the end of the Collector Base... talk about a RAGE moment.

Was on the 2nd latest ATI CCC, just updated.

Made no difference. Still broken.

I get that on the derelict reaper mission, right when you are about to blow up the mass effect core---but this is my 2nd playthrough and I had absolutely no issues runing it max settings the first time...this is the first and final issue, i can't get past that point nomatter what.

I sent a ticket to EA support, and got the following response:

I hope you get a laugh from it, I did. And then felt pretty hacked off. >.>

Hah, I forgot about validating my local files, did that and it redownloaded some that I assume became corrupted or something. And now it works!

perhaps you could rename the title to indicate you're using steam :P

Because some people don't use the steam version and are still getting that issue.
