Dragon Age - Origins

[*]Fixed potential corruption of character statistics

[*]Fixed portrait appearance sliders when importing a character from the
downloadable Character Creator

[*]Fixed import for preset face settings from the downloadable Character
Creator

[*]Made Easy difficulty easier

[*]Slightly increased attack, defense, and damage scores for all party members
at Normal difficulty

[*]Fixed video issues when running on a very wide screen display, including ATI
Eyefinity displays
[/list]
I'm glad they had time to make Easy difficulty Easier, but have done nothing about the DLC not properly installing for a ton of people. :|

Or, in my case, even appearing in the DLC section at all, denying me the chance to even download it. This is very frustrating. :(

Wasn't gonna say anything until someone else did, but this game has a definite memory leak problem. I'm rebooting my computer every sixity minutes, if I don't, load times and even FPS becomes ridiculous. I mean, up to nine minutes of loading and 3-4 FPS.

Other than that, before the problem sets in, I'm running fairly smooth.

You dont have to reboot your computer, just exit the game and restart it.

I can even put off restarting the whole game for a while longer if I just drop back to the main menu and resume my game but the load times still rack up like that so eventually I have to back all the way out.

What issue are you seeing with it?  More details would be usefull to try to help solve any issues you are seeing :)

The memory leak is more complex to fix in just what, 3 days? Plus, in my playtime (one time around 8 hours straight ) my load times were normal and fps normal. I didn't get any leak. or if there was, It wasnt major (maybe a couple second increase on loading.)

So it might just be on certain system configs, or some option I am using your not, or anything else. Not sure.

amazes me...mmm a crew of pre-launch play testers running the title for weeks could not isolate a memory leak? Are you sure thats what it should be called, if it is at all......Mmmmm Image IPB

My DLC works fine, but I'm getting the leak too. Can usually play around 4-6 hours, then it starts to get very sluggish, and have to restart the game. This is on Win7 64bit retail, and Steam.

I would imagine they'll adress this soon. Likely they fixed what they could get done quickly, and went ahead and released it, instead of waiting a longer time to fix anything at all.

On the Direct2Drive version, installing the patch goes with zero problems. However, when you then try to play, the game will not start and gives you an error about mismatches. I can't recall the exact error unfortunately, and since I had to uninstall and re-install, I don't know that I want to go through that again since the install process is also buggy as all heck (hangs forever on the EA Access portion of the install due to the Adobe Air installer hanging forever).

Just a heads up that the patches don't appear to be universal.

Well, I've installed the patch, but now none of my NPCs will do anything on their own.  Changing tactics doesn't do anything... they won't even follow me unless I force them to.

wow an update that could fix some of my issues...too bad I have to download steam to get it. Pretty bad when they can't get a patch on the web sites official page.

Memory Leak? I've run the game for over 24 hours straight without any slow downs.

Either there is no memory leak or my computer has infinite memory.

I keep seeing people saying the have gotten a patch... but wheres the official word? I have a D2D version (supposed to be compatible with all digital patch versions, but there is no auto-patcher with the game apparently).

Stealth patching isn't usually a good way to go :/

Where are retail customers supposed to get this patch? Why is the launch of this game such a disaster?

Hmm... the patch page should be up... let me go digging... (it's not supposed to be a stealth patch at all)

Well, found the patch on the social site... still wondering why no announcement. Also wondering why difficulty modes were changed? Easy is pretty... easy already, and normal was a nice balance :/. Ah well, it will affect me but I will deal with it.

Edit: someone in another thread found this page: http://social.bioware.com/game_patches.php

How are we supposed to find that page ourselves?

Great work with the site, really. I am beyond frustrated with this game and the social site at this point.

Thats why I am wondering why no announcement. I only found the link because I was reading another thread.

Just wanted to update on my experience. Patched my Direct2Drive version correctly. The only difference this time was when I had uninstalled previously, I had removed all folders/directories when it asked. Don't know if that changed something.

However, the link in the 'Games' folder that I used to be able to launch the game with does not work. Clicking it does nothing. I have to go to the location of the game and manually click the launcher to get it to start.

patch worked for me on steam.

Good work Bioware! Now just hopefully they work on the crashing issue that alot of people are having. For me it only gives me a DragAge.exe error when I press EXIT on the main menu, which is wierd. But there are alot of people having Crahes to Desktop (Ive only had two crashes to desktop in 13 hours).
