Hey everyone, I'm new here (my characters haven't even been updated yet) but I've been reading up on Dragon Ages a lot and I was a huge fan of previous Bioware games.

My question is: What are you going to play through the game as the first time?

Sorry if it's been asked before, but like I said, I'm new. Myself, I'm planning to either go with a City Elf Rogue or a Human Noble Warrior. I like the whole idea of the Rogue class, but I haven't played a true RPG game since, well, the first KOTOR, and I'm worried that using a class that's not exactly as combat-ready as other classes might lead to a bit of frusturation as I get back into the swing of things.

How about everyone else? What's your first character going to be?

My avatar will be my first character, City Elf Rogue Archer who'll later branch off into the Ranger specialization

Hmmm, I don't think it'll be too hard to get into the swing of things with a rogue but you should go Human noble warrior to begin with just to be sure.

You're looking at my first character in my avatar. Dwarf Noble Warrior.

After that playthrough I'm going with my dwarf commoner, the one you see in my avatar.

My first time is survival. I havn't ever played a rogue first play through. So a commoner rogue that does what's needed. Now in this game that seems to lean slightly evil. A example was if he had to kill a dude to save a village he would. He may regret it, but he has to survive. He knows what it takes to survive.

I don't like assassin, or bard, not sure about other two specilizations but we will see.

I'll be a human noble rogue female. High persuasion skill, seductive and deceptive. She's quite neutral, and wants to avenge her family. Will try to regain her social status, and lusts for power. Only thing that could change her is a potential romance, then, she maybe could forget about her own selfish goals, but that's doubtful. She is a rogue, because it fits with her political skills. She can betray if she thinks it's for the greater good (or her own good). She will look beautiful yet a little be gothic.

I now hesitate with a very nice and naive city elf female, who would try her best to improve the existence of her people. She's a rogue because of survival need.

Anyway, I think I'll stick to human noble for the moment. Concerning the group, I will choose, dog (origin link), then alistair (need a warrior), Morrigan and Zevran as a second rogue. Maybe change Alistair for Sten or Oghren because of moral choices that Alistair will maybe not accept.

Nikephoros, Human Noble Warrior and adherent (secretly, if the writers force it) of the Imperial Chantry instead of the heretical Orlesian corruption.

After that it's a toss-up between dwarf noble and elf mage.

I am going with a elf blood mage first playthrough. Something about destruction without remorse makes me feal all good inside.

I am thinking of human rogue bard spec for my first play through.  I wonder how many missions open up only through special dialogue options with a high enough stat like charm / intimidate in Mass Effect.

I'm going with a human noble warrior that will either be a templar or a champion.

I'd like to try a Dwarf Commoner who gets the Reaver specialization for the first playthrough.

Edit: I forgot to put the class >.<... Warrior.

Unless something strikes my fancy I'll start with the human noble warrior. Probably go for something balanced not sure yet, well see who I deside to take with me in my party.

My first playthrough for these kind of games is always a human male paladin. So my avatar will be my first playthrough. I will probably take the Champion and Templar specializations as well.

I'll start with a human mage, probably ending up as a blood mage. I always prefer to play mages, but all six origins interest me in this game, so i might never play a second mage PC.

1st playthrough I'm planning to do something more challenging and 'outside the box' than I'm used to--so I'm going human rogue..but specializing in poisons and traps for a more indirect style to fighting(I have a feeling it might become too challenging for me after a while)

But either way, I'm planning to play through each of the origins first, to see which one I become more attached to.

The first origin that I will be playing is the Human Noble as a Warrior. My reasoning being it seems to 'fit' more with what is currently known of the story IMO. After I have finished that origin, I will be startin on the others in to particular order, to see if my assumption was correct.

The key to rogue I think it just remeber you are not a warrior. This sounds easy but the origin may make you feel far more powerful then you'll be rest of the game. So just remeber to flank and backstab rather then front charge and it shouldn't be to bad.

Human Mage and all around nice guy...

But I'm really torn on the "build"..I hope someone quickly has some build ideas when the game first comes out or I will be lost...or I will just have to "wing it"

If I were to play a rogue, it'd definitely start out as a smug, somewhat immature nobleman who's out looking for excitement before he realizes that, 'Oh man, this stuff isn't all knights and saving princesses'.

Name: Camilia Tabris
Race: Elf
class: Rogue
Origin: City Elf
Combat Style: Archery
Specilization: Bard
Party Role: Takes out mages, picks locks, talks purty.
Party: Alistair, Wynne, Dog
Skills: Coercion (max), Combat Training (max) and some stealth/trapmaking
Talents: Single target archery(max) and a few melee archer talents, lockpicking (max)
Romance: Alistair, if I feel it'd work out.
Personality: Very, very naive. Altruistic out of ignorance of consequences. Learned at an early age to talk her friends and family out of trouble, but doesn't see a reason to keep herself out of it (not that she goes looking for it, mind you). She gets frightened very easily, but hardens herself if her friends get hurt.
