Without spoiling too much for me, I was wondering if it was possible for me to got into the basement of the mage tower. The place is filled with demons and I'm cleaning it out atm. I completed a quest that summoned an ancient demon when I tried to open the door to the basement - but now the door cannot be clicked on.

If you've already finished the codex quest involving the statues and received the message that "something is released from it's prison", you just simply need to click on the locked basement door.
You might have to finish the main quest at the circle tower before you will be allowed to click on the basement door.
Edit: You don't actually go in the door. The only time I have been in there so far is for the mage origin story.
