The whole "You'll get punished in Mass effect 3 if you don't stay faithful Mass Effect 2" has me confused and irritated. What reason is there to stay "faithful" to something that isn't there? You're brushed off. You got the hand. The shrug and "Did we know eachother" treatment.

I can understand Ashley being upset in a way, but Liara is just weird. I remember first thinking, what's this, and got annoyed and hooked up with Tali since Liara obviously didn't want anymore than what she got.

There is no punishment. Actually, for those who did romance someone in the first game, and stayed true to them, there will be a romantic relationship with those characters.

I think for those, who didn't stay loyal, there won't be such an option with their ME1 LI. Or a hard time to set things straight.

So it's not an actual punishment, but some things will play out differently.

Ok, after you read the comic and get every dialogue option out of Liara, you'll understand better why she is acting so strange.

I have a nasty feeling that the li's from ME1 will return and the ME characters won't. So even if people prefer Miranda, Jacob, etc. They won't get to carry those over, and you'll have to deal with bs from the ones you cheated on.

I'm sure BioWare will find some ridiculous reason why it's "cheating", when in fact the ME1 thing was a one night stand and your ME1 LI it totally not into you anymore

That's what it feels like. Unless they release some magical DLC (Downloadable Love Content) to fix it somehow.

in the end its all speculation as to how it will impact ME3. I have no intention of going back to the ME1 LI, unless Tali is unavailable.

But given how things are in ME2 it does feel that way.

I am looking at it as an opportunity to see different parts of the game. If you stay faithful then you will see something in ME3 that you wont if you move on so have fun and get as many different endings as you can just to see how thing change up.

You really believe that?  I think you might've missed something important.

Sry, I didn't mean to sound rude, but you cam take the scene that way with Ash and liara, but not with Kaidan. The e-mail afterwards, the aweful scene just shows hpow troubled the relationship is. One ME3 comes around, it'll resume just fine.

I just don't get the point of cheating. Just roll a new Shepard that's single. How hard is that?

I think it's asking too much of Shepard to remain faithful after the cold treatment received on Horizon and being dead for two years. Can't blame him too much for wanting to move on, he had to check if everything works after two years.

Well, in ME2 there is the looming suicide mission...

But I agree that ME2 LIs are more fleshed out.

I don't think it's cheating on Ashley as she basically broke up with you.

It may feel like you're not cheating on Liara if you don't get the right dialogue.

Either way, I'm going to play ME1 without a LI so that it won't be an issue.

But if you see the circumstances, you see that's not true. I dunno about Liara, but for Ash/Kaidan they still have strong feelings. That's one of the reasons they are acting this way.
After mourning over somebody's death for two years, seing that particular person to return from the dead wearing the colors of a not-so-friendly organization - it can be a bit overwhelming.

A lot of people act like don't get the scene at all. What emotions are present, how does it look from the outside. But it's one of the best written scenes in the game, exactly because of this. I expected a cheesy, somewhat obvious reunion with some B-movie lines over "yay, you're back, I love you, but I have *random* to do, see ya in the sequel", instead I got something much more serious.

I did that in game and still, if I was Liara, I would not act the way she does. Either I was interested and then I'd go for it, or I was not, and then I'd go my own way, like she does.

Thats what it felt like to me. "Wham bam thank you."

Hell even in the intro, i imported my save where liara was my love interest and who comes charging up and not wanting to leave my side? ASHLEY, i got the feeling Liara was just in it for a fun one nighter and ashley was more of a long haul person

The fact that my squadmate and not my love interest didnt wanna leave my side was kinda a slap in the face for the relationship :P

Haha, well they did manage to make Ashley just as awful as in the first game. The whole ''Shepard is God'' thing had me roll my eyes. And of course there was some poor, overused poetry in the following email.

Maybe I shouldn't have started with my only Shepard who had Ashley survive.

Shepard asking them to join Cerberus so abruptly is asking too much.  Not remaining faithful.  Not every superhero these days has to be a w h ore

If they gave something else for ME3 to snog I'd go for it too. Don't really matter to me if I'm faithful or not to a digital character, I just like experiencing everything I can out of the game.

Bull....it's quite obvious they loved you.  Hell, Ash and Kaidan even say it.

Remain faithful if you care about them, that's why.

But for Shepard it only seems like a day or two.  He was dead for most of those two years.
