Since I cannot "edit" my orginal post I'll update my guide here (later I'll post it as a text file on MediaFire).
Regarding "Kelly Chambers", be really careful when speaking to her. She might be a "romance trigger assistant" since my female and male hero get very personal questions on "romance issues" with the official BioWare certified romances... even after meeting Kedian she asks my female hero if she loves him, and this can only mean one thing: "game flags" (more on that deeper down).
I am now playing trough the game from the "start", and in this run I avoid doing ANY personal quests i.e. I just "pick up" new crew members and see if anyone activate any "romance options/triggers". So far all talk with the romance possible crew members have been basic "general chat" even when using the "personal" talk trigger with them. So I think "romance triggers" will NOT open up with a crew member *UNTIL* you have done their personal quest.
Yet, "Kelly Chambers" might be a "joker" in this game regarding triggers, so my advice is as follows: when you talk with her, turn into a "gender" that is officialy required for the romance interest you want i.e. if you want Tali, talk to "Kelly Chambers" as a "male", becouse this is what happened when I had collected all crew members but Legion (not all of them have given me their personal quests, so I guess I'll have to do one at a time and wait until Tali's and Garrus come up):
My female got some general Quarian Tali friendship "bla bla" from "Kelly Chambers"
I then loaded my save (I always save before talking to important NPC's so I can nail down exactly when to genderchange to get a "safe" non-certified romance) and changed into a male.
My male on the other hand got "romance questions" from "Kelly Chambers", and could pick an answer to Kelly about wanting to be more than friends with Tali.
So, my advice for now (until I know more): - avoid speaking with "Kelly Chambers" (if you not changed gender to the proper one) since she might be more than she looks... regardless: - In the long run, I am 95% sure that talking to "Kelly Chambers" will not lock you out from any romance, even non-official ones... but, until I have finished this playtrough I am not 100%
Deeper explanation:
BioWare might have something really big planned for Mass Effect 3 "romance-wise" since they datamine lots of stuff trough Kelly Chambers to be stored in your savegame (for later import in ME3) it seems. So, as I see it, the player "might" be able to "romance" Ashley, Kedian and Liara *even* if they did not do it in Mass Effect 1 when Mass Effect 3 comes out. Why else whould a "female player" get a question if she still loves Kedian? Oh, this "imported save" was a clean-not-dating-anyone, so... I also belive there will be quite nasty consequences for anyone "cheating" on their ME1 flame (pictureframe turned upside down in your cabin = then you cheated).
Until the savegame editor is finished it's still very hard to datamine quest-triggers, but I'll return with more info later...
