Best Romance in Mass Effect 2

Though I have to ask this, and I asked it in another thread and no one replied to it.
While I thought it was awesome when she says she wants me to see whats under the face mask, the thought immediately popped into my head, "why not have a face mask that isn't tinted?" Someone brought up that maybe they wanted to keep out the radiation from the sun, to which I reply, but ME2 has shown that you can tint and un-tint your face mask (dude who fixes up gunship during Archangel mission does this). So wouldn't Tali just have to tint when she's in the sun and let the tint drop to clear when she's out of the sun or indoors?
Is this a too simple solution that I think is staring me in the face?

I personally tried shoving Tali in Liara's face after it was done. And I will continue to shove only Tali.
Though my friend picked Garrus and he is just once again, the most unintentionally hilarious character in the game.
But seriously. Tali. Should've been in ME1.
The wait made the relationship better.
There should be a joke about this in ME3... if confronted by Ash or Liara... we can just say "Hey... You were just there till I could get with Tali. Playa!"
I fully expect ash/kaiden to throw a ****storm of EPIC proportions when they found out you cheated on them with an alien.
If this doesn't make it into ME3, I will be disappointed.

I don't think Kaiden would mind the alien part. Ashley would have a freaking fit though, she's territorial.

Lol, that'd be hilarious. Liara would probably throw that whole "flay you alive" thing out, but we all know she's just a big bluff on the inside.
I think it will be the game ending with somehow destroying ALL those Reapers, and then marrying the character of your choice. Finally letting Shepard have the credit and love that he/she deserves.

It's Tali,
I do hope to continue the romance in ME3, and have the option to see her face (i say option for those who don't wanna see it don't have to).
For female Shepherd, i really like how Bioware guys handled Garrus and Thane's romantic scenes.
very good imo.

Absolutely Thane. His romance is the most bittersweet one of the lot and that's what makes it beautiful. His VA and animations during the final scene are fantastic and the delivery socked me in the gut. And what I appreciate most about his romance is that there is no question over how he feels about Shepard -- he is in love with her. He openly admits it more than once, and she to him. Some of the other romances felt shallow by comparison. And I guess that's okay -- not everyone is into the deep spiritual stuff. I am, which is why his romance is my favorite.
(Not that I don't like Garrus', I do. It's very cute. But Jacob's I flat-out don't care for.)
The MaleSheps options? I'd have to say... hm. Jack's is very moving, but Tali's has this heartwarming familiarity to it and the added element of her life within the suit.

Seeing the development of Garrus with my FemShep was beautiful though. I was going to set her up with Jacob, but I'm glad I didn't. After seeing it on the web, it's just a booty call. Not good, at all.
As for the females, Jack is the best, no question.

When she said that, I'm fairly certain she meant it more in a metaphorical way. She wanted someone to be close to, and she wanted it to be Shepard.
That's how I looked at it anyway
Or maybe the materials in the quarian face masks CAN'T be tinted? Who knows..
edit:
Tali had me at "I wish Shepard were here" when you do her recruit mission.
Also, I want to second this. I liked Tali in the first game, but I was planning on going for jack on my first playthrough. Tali's amazing voice acting had me sold on that line though

I would also say that Thane's final scene is well worth watching. The whole romance didn't do it for me; he fell oddly flat, until the final scene, then HOLY CRAP. It was great. Very bittersweet.
For the guy LIs, I've only seen the final scenes but Tali's seemed the cutest.

In the first game there weren't really any viable options, what with the cardboard cut-out that was Kaidan or the rascist/humans first shrew that was Ashley. I thought Liara was nice, but a little too naive at the time.
In ME2 Jacob just seemed like Kaidan 2.0. Miranda is too much in Cerberus's pocket (and way too ****y if you side with Jack when they're having their fight). And as much as I feel bad for Jack and all the horrible stuff that happened to her, that doesn't really translate into desire for me.
I don't hate Tali, but I don't entirely like her either. I think the Quarians got what they deserved over the whole Geth mishap, and I didn't like her treatment of Legion who I really liked (though I can sort of see where she's coming from).
As for Garrus, he was one of my favorite characters from the first game, along with Wrex, but he's my brother-in-arms - it was a little weird going down that road with him.
So like I said: Thane all the way baby!

As for the other two options, Miranda didn't seem to have any emotion behind it. And Jack needs friendship and stability more than anything. Romancing her doesn't seem right if I'm to assume my character still has feelings for his game 1 squeeze (Ash).
So in the end I went for Miranda just for the acheivement and cutscene. But on my "canon" playthrough, I won't romance anybody in hopes that Ash shows up again in part 3.

Would also have liked the chance of femShep romance with Jack, Miranda or Samara.
Hope more choice in ME3

I really don't get all the Tali gushing. She's a great character, I loved her story, missions, and the background she has with Shepard. But in my mind, she's much more a younger sister type person in Shepard's life. While she obviously has matured in the two years that have passed and cares for Shepard a great deal, she was just coming into adulthood in the first game while Shepard was already a seasoned vet. It just doesn't seem right. And that's not even considering the difference in species.

I guess the character appeals to something different in everyone. I'm not gushing, but I'm telling you, I thought the whole bit about Tali having a crush on Shepard (but thinking that he wouldn't reciprocate) was heartwarming, especially when you find out (via Kelly) that she feels this way whether or not you romance her, and from hints like the log on her Recruitment Missions ("I wish Shepard were here...") Granted, the latter will make some people think there was a little sister aspect going on there, but I just interpreted it as a would-be private appeal to the powers that be that Shepard would, you know, BE THERE for her.
Again, might have to do with the fact that my current girlfriend was much the same as Tali in terms of not thinking she would be 'good enough', but I love that aspect of Tali's personality.

Kaiden struck me as very mature kind of guy. I think he'd be more of type who bites his tongue, acknowledges what happened as just part of "that's how life goes" and then acts it's all okay while he carries on brokenhearted. He's also very open minded about aliens, i wouldn't expect that to become a sore point for him. Come to think of it, gotta feel sorry for him.epoch_ wrote...

On the other hand. If Bioware likes to screw with their playerbase (and all signs point to yes) they may as well reveal in ME3 that it's actually your old LI that had a relationship of their own with some 3rd party while they thought Shepard was dead...

That already happens in ME2, or it does with Kaiden at least. He tells you that he's tried to have a relationship with someone else, albeit mostly unsuccessfully.
I didn't do any of the romance options in ME2, since I didn't feel like it fit my character. I really wish there had been a bit more to the previous relationship than what was done... it was a painful, and short, connection with Kaiden when you finally run into him that feels like a kind of punch in the gut. The mail you get later on shows that it was the same on the other end, and that things aren't resolved at all.
For all the running around that was done to straighten out other people's lives before we headed on with the mission, Shepard is the one who never sought any resolution to anything and probably needed it most. I'm hoping it pays dividends in ME3.
