I have the dragon scale which should let me get it from Wade, if I pay him 10 gold or whatever.  Unfortunately, I apparently didn't pay him enough money during one of the earlier transactions, so now he doesn't give me the option of paying for the superior armor.

The non superior armor he gives me instead is crap.

I'm obviously not about to reload my last saved game from before I failed to pay him earlier, as I'd have to redo about 20 hours of the game.

Is there any console cheat or mod or anything else which would let me get the armor?  Seems pretty lame to close off one of the best armors in the game because of some random action I took early on which didn't at the time appear to affect anything.

You don't need to pay for the armor - I never have even though I've paid the max (that I know of) for the previous two sets. I talk to Hehren, tell him I have dragon scales, Wade gets all excited, then he asks if I want medium armor, heavy, or plate. This past game with my sword and shield HNF I went with the plate, and it certainly is nice armor.

I usually give him 10G with the first set of drakeskin armor and he then gives me superior quality for both the 2nd set of drakeskin and the dragonscale.

Addition - you have done both drakescale quests, right, and are now working with the dragon scale from the high dragon?

Yes, I've done both drake scale quests and now have the dragon scale from the high dragon.



There is now no way to get the superior armor without going back and redoing about 20 hours worth of the game.



So, is there any other way of getting the superior armor?

i didn't notice in the first game because i was a mage and couldn't use it, but the second time around i paid him for both sets of drakeskin, then when i got the bone plate armor it was superior. again i'm not sure if it was superior in the first game when i didn't pay him but i got it for paying him in my second.
