Ok, I want a challenge, so I set the game to "hard" and yah, its damn hard... I'm at Redcliffe trying to hold off the zombies with the rogue chick, Sten, Alastair and my mage character... I did most of the hellpful quests before the start of the battle, with the exception of killing the the dwarf...

I came here first leaving Lothimer, I held off the first zombie assault no problem... Then I have to go stop a second wave and I get completely overwhelmed.  This is with flame weapon being cast prior to battle... The battle goes well but they dont stop coming and eventually overwhelmed me... should I not have come here first?  But I am getting anhilated and going through a healthy stock of healing potions and mana potions before being slaughtered.

Any tips for this battle?  I am pulling all the zombies up the hill...

It's a bugged quest. Zombies will respawn indefinitely for some users. I counted 90 zombies in the second wave (I gathered them in groups and kited them to the knights at the top of the hill) before finally giving up.

Chance of it getting patched? Eh.

Wow, I'm having the exact opposite problem - nothing is spawning anymore. All the knights are alive and most of the militia, but after fighting off the zombies they're just standing around.

Haha. Wow. Fire some people at QA, please.

I had the zombies stop respawning and I was like "huh"? So I went running around and noticed one lone zombie standing there doing nothing wedged between a few buildings. As I ran towards it suddenly the attack ended and the cutscene started. Guess I got lucky, eh?

Hmm, time to go check between buildings. I already ran all over the docks area and through the green cloud.

You did get lucky. If the zombies get stuck, this can also cause them to spawn forever. The catch? They keep getting stuck, so you can't win.

This is a waste of time. I can't believe that nobody in QA caught this one. I have yet to run this quest without zombies becoming bugged and making it impossible to clear.

Man I reloaded and reloaded, and just about reloaded a previous save to see if I missed anything. Then I googled a bunch of profanities along with the words dragon age and zombie quest. Fun times.

QA failure here folks.

Refund? Haha, no, silly me, you can return a broken shoe but not a broken game! Oh well, I guess this game is bricked until Bioware fixes it. Typical.

Mmmm, deal with it? You mean that paying customers should "deal" with game-breaking bugs in primary quests?

Ha! You enable developers like Bioware to do this.

Alright, here's how to beat this, even with the glitching:

1) Download the stealth patch (laughable, you can't find the page unless you know the address) at http://social.biowar...ame_patches.php

2) Set the mode to Easy (new and improved super easy!)

3) During the second wave, kill the zombies as quickly as you can; look for zombies that get stuck around the fire, as they will cause the quest to glitch and will trigger additional spawns; kill the zombies that get stuck as quickly as possible and you should be able to clear it

EDIT: I now have no faith in Bioware's ability to test games. They had a massive budget and problems like this one still remain. Problems with registration on the social site, invalided keys, DLC woes, and primary quest-breaking bugs. Shame on you, Bioware.

Err, wow. A game this large had a broken quest. Shocking.

I'm sure it will get fix but a bugged quest here and there is nothing earth shattering.

Funny that nearly everybody has this problem. I agree with Melchiz, it's kind of ridiculous.

I can't imagine it's a hard fix... let's see a quick patch, eh?
