Disliking the complete removal of RPG elements in favor of halo/COD kiddie markets is not nitpicking. But you are welcome to think whatever you want.

Every good gamer nitpicks, looks at the details, for each flaw speaks volumes to him or her.  It is what separates a gamer from a casual player.

the thing about these polls that is misleading is that they are way too black & white.

Overall, i'm satisfied with ME2, but with major dissapointments.  I think a lot of the people complaining on the forums are complaining because they love ME and don't want to see the same mistakes in ME3.

I am aware that Bioware responds to forum content.  it's impressive. but that is also what makes me complain. i want to see ME3 be the best of the trilogy. if no one voices their opinion or tries to constructively crticize ME2, ME3 will suffer for it.

Just saying things like, "WOOOHOOO!! Way to go Bioware!", "Love the Game, keep up the good work Bioware!", "EA FTW!" over and over isn't going to do anything for anyone.

Enjoyed it on both 360 and PC. The pole needed a third option though for people that liked the game but have some small disappointments about it.

Then you vote satisfied. You've expressed your opinion and disappointment in other threads that I am sure BioWare has taken note of. As I said earlier, if your disappointment with certain elements caused you not to be able to enjoy the game you vote disappointed, if you were still satisfied with the experience despite those elements then you vote satisfied.

A poll doesn't have to include every possible option for praise and complaint, they simply aren't designed to do so.

I think its really funny that because trolls around these forums spamming threads all day long about how they hate the game, now someone think the majority is negative aswell. 95% of the players think the game is awesome, trust me. But at the moment they still playing the game, not whining about little flaws "ruining" their game. I loved ME1 because Bioware created a fantastic universe, with cool characters and a damn fine story, not because the inventory system, the crap MAKO or the mostly useless skills. ME2 just improved everything, sure its obvious the game changed a lot,but still its better. Anyway i cant believe a true ME fan can say that he feel disappointed. Voted for the happy option. :)

I really love the game despite having changes to it but hey at least they made things easier for us not having a massive inventory full of random crap, i mean i do love that because i loot everything and sell it normally but its not bothered me too much.

The games alot better than i thought it would be and a nice improvement on the first one i think but they might finally nail the option of the inventory in the 3rd game.

Ive not finished the game yet and im exploring everything but yea i love the game the only thing im sort of unhappy with is the lack of armour and weapons (looting in general)

Here's the thing. All the people that love this game are PLAYING the game, not spending all their time on a message board complaining. That's why the board looks a bit negative, IMO.

I personally loved the game. I've always been about the story, characters and dialog with Mass Effect and while I do miss the looting and such from the first game, it was not the main reason I loved ME.

ME2 took it up a notch and there's still a lot of DLC coming down the pipe. This is one of the best games I've ever played. Period.

No, you're wrong. I love the game, play it when i'm at home and spend time on forums while at work (i guarantee i'm not the only one). lol.

I complain/criticize to see the game improve.

Half of the things you like in ME2 probably wouldn't be there if people hadn't complained in the post-ME1 forums. think about it.

I am very disappointed with the Mass Effect 2 game, 4 main
reasons:

1. Having to worry about ammo.

2. The got rid of the cool ground vehicle.

3. Worrying about fuel for flying around when there is
nothing to look for other than clusters.

4. The scanning process.

Why I have the four issues:

Ammo. Having to make sure you have enough ammo is a waste of my concentration
and fun of just shooting everything. I would rather worry about the overheating
then looking around for ammo. At least make it respawn so you can get all you
want. Also the team members do not have to worry about it and the enemies do
not have to worry about it. I counted one time where a rocket launcher
enemy shot 65 times before i finally got sick of counting and shot her. ( I made
the team member stay back in an area so they would not shot the person.)

The ground vehicle. It was a blast driving around on a plant to kill things,
scan for minerals and just do the jumping off Hugh Mountains and hit the burners
to slow the fall.

Fuel for the ship.... this is self explaining DAAAAA!!!!

Scanning. It was fun scanning on the first 3 planets, but since it takes so
long to scan to get materials for upgrades it takes to long to play now (not
like the ground vehicle (MR1) At least it let you drive a cool vehicle as you
looked for minerals

I played every possible character in Mass Effect 1, but because of the
ammo ,and scanning I will play it through once and take it back, and get a
different game.

When they do Mass Effect 3, they need to take it back to the original game ways
with no ammo and fuel worries.

There was no reason to change these parts of the game. A new story line and new
toons were enough.

They really need to fire the person that did this to the game.

One thing I like in my games, especially in a series, is continuity in rules set and setting. The removal of the inventory system was too drastic and stupid. Now I am running around with a half naked chick and a turian who doesn't have enough sense to fix his armor. These people are supposedly be the best of the best? They should be instantly killed in the very first fire fight they are in.

This.  I can't deny I had fun playing through the game at least once, and probably will again, but it was definitely not what a lot of us expected at all.  Instead of it being a "Roleplaying Shooter" it's now a "Shooter with a few roleplaying elements".

The thing is, kinda disappointed imo still equates to bieng disappointed.

Well I was disappointed due to the expectations I had of a "Mass Effect" game, but I wasn't disappointed in playing a "good game".  So no, it's not really the same thing.

Maybe I should rephrase...

I mean people who hate the game just to hate it. I have nothing against people who think it is more HALO.

I'd think that not dying despite having cracked armor, or no armor, does in fact make them the best of the best, no?

Because to you it's only black or white.  Too bad opinions are usually a bit more complex than that.  The largest amount of complaint threads are not started by people that absolutely hated the game or were completely disappointed with everything about it either.

Im not looking for shades of grey. If your thoughts are more complex than this poll, dont vote and disreegard it.

I like it and that's how I voted it as. Seems the people who are most complaining had given themselves some very specific expectations, I went in assuming nothing and found what has possible been one of the best games I have played in a long time. Sure there's the floaty bug, and I miss the mako, though that was removed as a result of people complaining about it, but overall it was a good improvement on the original.

Good idea on starting the poll, and good idea on making it so black and white, it forces people to decide one way or the other where they stand as opposed to giving wooly answers. From the results a good overall picture is forming of how people stand overall.

Its not god damnit!
Getting rid of skills no one uses and fixing things such as TOO many armor types and variations.
I think ME2's custimations is a lot better.
I actually believe people are pissed because they were expecting to have this high level character and instead they still have to start over.......

Not disappointed. There are a couple of minor things that could have been better, mainly that you cannot modify the weapon like in first game (ammo is done well in ME2 however, though i'd love to see HE rounds) and AI (which sucks once again) as always in all games. Haven't seen a game yet where AI could (chess doesn't count) defeat me WITHOUT any bonus resources (like more HP and dmg, money and ores, seeing the whole map from start).

Honestly, i'm impressed with the story and the world. Combat's fun unlike in first game, decisions feel meaningful unlike first game... i'm more Shepard now.. Streamlined inventory and lack of combat exp is good (in my and my friends pnp RPGs, we never give exp during game, only beetween sessions).

Oh and i find calling FPSes being for kids or their players being stupid etc. VERY insulting. To excell in those, you need good spatial awarness, innate knowledge of tactics, you must be willing to take risks and all... Shooters need intelligence, if a bit different from what RPGs need.

I think Joker summarizes Mass effect 1 vs Mass effect 2 very well in some inship dialogue. Shep asks: You ever miss the good old days?

Joker responds: Well yeah, they seem great now, but come on they seemed like hell back then!

When ME3 comes out, we'll be talking longingly about Mass Effect 2.

I'm loving ME2. Sure it has some major changes from ME1 (and a few additions I could do without), but in general it's an excellent game. I think it definitely deserves all of the praise heaped upon it.
