All Quarian fetish-ists please report to the Tali topic so we can seal you in there for all eternity.

As for the rest of us... it will never be spoken of again. Do you understand?

Yes sir.

Sir. Shall we begin pumping liquid hot magma into the Tali-lover threads now or tomorrow?

The sooner the better, just make sure we have patrols looking for stragglers, just one can infect a whole forum.

I think they have a point, though.  The only quarian we have had extended time with is tali, and as such she is a representative of her race.  If we don't acknowledge the effect that that has on our opinion of quarians in general then we are only talking about one side of a multifaceted argument.  To disregard that element belies its significance.

Tali rocks, but I agree. Comeon people. She's not real... Then again, there are still people obsessing over Neytiri from Avatar so I suppose this is rather mild.

The phenomenon that compels some to help Quarians is known to TV Tropes as The Woobie.

Aha!  I knew there had to be a name.  I help every Quarian I can find because I think they're damned awesome.

Also, for those intending to turn this thread into a Tali love/hate s***fest, kindly leave.  This thread isn't even ABOUT Tali, but rather Quarians as a people.  Can't we keep it that way?

That is not my intent. I just find some of the posts in these kind of threads to be a tad... Disturbing? I don't know.

I've seen a few unsettling threads myself (some of the *insert character name* fanboys can go over the top) but I just end up ignoring it and moving on.

No sense in preventing discussion simply because it's something you don't agree with.

That being said, my answer is Claudia Black voicing a Quarian :D

This.
(Sroka's voice is nice, too, but I just prefer Black's. Baldwin's was great, too ^_^ )

I would have to agree w/ the person who mentioned the suits: some of them, esp. those w/ the noticeable patterns on the cloth parts, are kinda nice.
That said, I hope that the Quarians end up exoskeletons like WH40k's Tau (Crisis suits, I guess...but better looking? ), as they really look rather fragile. IMHO, if Kal'Reegar is going to be in the next game, it'd be better if he were in a powered exoskeleton/armor. ;)

Again, not my intent. Just voicing my concern.
Ignoring it seems a useful attitude, though.

It's not really you I'm thinking of when I said that.  I'm thinking more of the people who want all *insert character name*mancers to die horribly.

Quarians have wide, child bearing hips. Human males are naturally attracted to this due to evolutionary processes that value such for reproduction and the like. As smart as we think we are, we are still very dominated by primal instincts sometimes. Bioware designed and alien with a pleasing humanoid form, enigmatic nature, AND physical features that trigger sexual attraction in humans. That is why Quarians are attractive to us even without their faces being visible..

One flick of the OmniTool wrist from a Quarian and the top will turn into the bottom. ;)

Don't post logical pictures of what someone like Tali might actually look like under the suit!  You're ruin the mental romance of a secret Night Elf chick being under the hood, for so many of the ill-informed posters here!  BAN THIS HEATHEN FOR POSTING LOGIC!

This is the kind of flamebait post I was talking about.

I will never, ever understand why some people are so bothered by subjective and/or loosely interpreted things like "night-elf Tali" that they go to the point of indirect (or direct) insults.

I wonder if those wide hips are indicative of quarians having large skulls.

It's not a flamebait response, nor was it my intention if it came across that way.  I just see an incredible amount of blindness here with a folks who have erected a small shrine to the Tali character.  After seeing several of the fan artworks of her by folks here (and others via text descriptions), it seems that some folks here simply assume she's some exotic version of Ashley or Miranda under the enviromental suit, when we've had little bits of info dropped on us that would say that "No, ya'll are a little bit off here and there with what you're expecting."

All in all, I keep my expectations realistic in regards to what she really looks like (unlike others here) for if that day does come and we do see what she looks like, that (unlike so many folks here), I won't have my world crushed by it and flood the forums with QQ posts like "Waaaah!  That's not Tali!  You guys screwed her up!!!!!!111!!11"  All the while, I'll say: "Yeah, that kinda does look like what I expected, based off what they told us in the past."

Fair enough, you just worded it in a way that was guaranteed to incite anger.  I do agree that the CGI model you quoted is probably a fair bit closer to actual Quarians than the night-elf Tali's we see but the way I see it...until we actually know what they look like, might as well let people have some fun ^_^
