Right now I am A REALY PISSED OF CUSTOMER!!! I bought the game in Czech Republic and the retailer told me that the collectors edition will be in english (I prefer my games in original language) - it is definetly not (even if english is listed as sound and manual language).

The Czech translation is HORRIBLE (I would translate it better and i am no linguist - just an example: CREDITS (game money) is translated as Autors (game creators) because somebody just used an autotranlator and never checked the actual game for different meanings. Now I have to grind my teeth every time i pay for something (in Autors GRRRR...). The short selections in dialogues sometime do not meaningly correspond to what is said later.

Is there an english language pack somewhere for download please? I so far like the game story and new mechanics, but the SLOPPY, UNCHECKED and HORRIBLE translation is ruining the game.

We are very aware of this and are determining what we can do about it.

I guess the same goes for Polish box/retail edition. EA gave ass. No original voiceover or text can be chosen in the menu. I know for a fact that the english content is availabele - there is a work around, but without search function on the forums I cant find it.

I'm waiting for a solution, I'm waiting with the instal for the very reason. Imagine that bioware. I vented some time ago on the forums so I wont be tossing invectives here ;) but please give us remedy, and quick if possible, thank you.

Well, you can always change subtitles to eng (if you don't need cz).
PetrP, I've send you tutorial how to do that (via pm).

Well, making a contract with better translation companies (for example to to translate future ME3 into czech you shloud make contract with CDprojekt, like you did it with ME1, so this disaster won't happen again (Dragon Age translation have issues too and as far as i know it was translated by the same company like ME2, right?)).
There's no way you can save this crappy translation now.

I explained it already here:

http://social.biowar...830856/1#846752

Changing czech-polish-hungarian version to english is quite easy, but you need one file to do so.

http://www.frogup.co...ie_napisy/20719

Click "Pobierz" to download, It's BIOGame_INT.tlk (just subtitles, english voices are there).

You have to put it in Mass Effect 2-> Bioware -> CookedPC

Than It's just a matter of opening SKU file located in Mass Effect 2 -> Data with notepad

and changing both values (POL in my case, can be smth else, like HUN or CZ) to INT. Save file. play.

Won the game already, now trying with other ME1 save on Insanity ^^

Thank you Crusader_bin for the solution. One quick question tho... Will it work after I install DLCs or future pacthes?

But this really works and you don't need download anything else (which comes handy for those with limited bandwich or etc.). No reinstalling, just dl and copy 2MB file, edit another and that's it.

Bagalas: Well, if you download english patch, it shouldn't be problem (cause it only redirects the game from loading youre native language to english).
About those DLC, i think that's exactly the same think (i have collectors armor and weapon, normandy crash site, infernal armor, zaeed and blood dragon armor and all of this works how it should).

It will probably work better than the localized versions, since DLCs are in English only.

Incorrect. The DLCs are all languages. As pointed out above, the DLCs will install to the same langauge that the main game is using.

Hi. I have found nice tip about the editing of configuration file, too. The Czech is not extremely right in the game, but Petr could say that much more nicer. By the way... Is it necessary to have disk in the DRIVE? I am not fan of this method, I like have my disks stored in safe place.

By the way. One of the best games and the community here is also very nice and kind.

Thanks.

Pavel, Czech

You can either:
Uninstall thegame, register the game with EA's Origins download service using your existing product key, download and install.
or
Go to Gamecopyworld.com and get their no-disk exe. Not sure if the exe is region specific, but its quicker to download a single file than the entire game.

Hello,
i'm another unsatisfied customer. After one year you're still selling game DVD localized without the possibility of choice to choose EN language??
Let me crack it down for you.
1. bought new game, looking happily forward to start gaming (in my scarce free time)
2. i find out i can't turn on EN anywhere (even though i was told in game shop, this is with EN!)
3. i start to game to find out that:
-> the translation is to local lang is terrible
-> if i want to use EN i could do it by (as see above advices) editing/downloading (hacking) some files ...
-> or, i could even try to register it online - and feel like winner if successful and then download it again? If you're not feeling this sarcastic, then i assure you, it is. ...

4. Let me tell you, in my life, i became successful IT specialist, by not doing compromises when doing things for my customers!
Because of it, this game is already uninstalled.

5. conclusion:
3+ hrs of my time wasted, feeling cheated

Now, don't waste your breath and time please, by answering me, i don't care and i'm not gonna waste my time by checking this thread back. I just wanted to tell you (and to all web spiders, that's gonna index this thread) how much your management at Bioware failed at this!

1) Then please take the time to register it on the forums, My Games -> Register Games
2) They game shop employee had a vested interest in seperating you from your money. Never take a salesman, for any product, at their word.
3) Did you think to set your PC to an English speaking ergion and reinstalling?
4) As a successful IT specialist, you surely wuold be famialiar with wadnig through a FAQ, in which case section 2.5.2 (dealing with DLC languages) might bear some light to your current predicament. Your failure to do so means your not as successful, nor as much as a specialist, as you may think you are.
5) You failed to think outside the box, you wasted your own time.

In conlusion, just another wannabee pirate having a whinge because theyre too much of a tightwad to buy the game.
