Branka disables him. I find that to be one of the most annoying fights in the game because of that.

heh I guess she's too busy to inactivate him or something then. Like I said, I find the fight annoying cause he doesn't fight, after yelling "But my friend, help me!" Bah, help yourself first.
I only found out she inactivated him because he tells Shale later, if you bring Shale to that fight, that it might have not gotten activated because of the broken control rod. Annoying.

Different opinions on this, but hopefully you got Morrigan a heal spell and hopefully rejeuve...if not:
- change the tactics on your party so that they will all take a heal pot - I have the tanks "use heal pot - least powerful" at less than 50% health, and the mages at less than 75%.
- change the tactics on morrigan so she will do the same with a lyrium pot - I have her use one at less than 50% mana
- If you are a mage - use your CC spells (Crowd Control) - if not, have morrigan use hers.
- I like to put Alastair on Branka, and the rest on the golems. You can pause combat and make sure he's in defensive stance with shield.
- I think they go down quicker if you focus fire them (all assist) you can also change your party's tactics to assist whoever you are targeting- even if its just for that fight
- make use of the lyrium veins too if you're a mage to conserve lyrium pots
- maces may work better on the golems since they are made out of stone - I haven't had any on me the couple times I played through, but I do remember reading they are better for penetrating armor than swords, so I would assume hammer is better on rock than a knife

- Try and hit whatever Caridin's golems are hitting - that may help a bit as well. I believe you can heal them, I can't remember from my healer playthrough - I know you can heal the Redcliff fighters and Ser Otto, so I don't see why you can't heal the golems. They hit hard and are definitely a help.

^ Good advice. And you can heal the golems on your side, which is definitely helpful.
