Wow... I seem like the only person who really didn't have much trouble with his Shepard's face. I may have reloaded twice at the most.
But I didn't even have to tweak my Shepard's face in 2 after I imported him. He was perfect, if not, a lot better!
This fifteen-plus reloading seems a bit ridiculous. How spot on are you trying to get your character?
Mine was spot-on and I took maybe twenty minutes at absolute most to make him.

How about being able to change our face via the surgery thingy in the med bay?

I agree with the whole baaaawwww.
Forme a save point within the character generator.
Make a better model viewer with the option to switch lighting.
The facial code thing was a good step, but not a big enough step.
It's not about perfect vanity so much as it is about those perfect 90degree angle cheekbones that could cut a roast.

/sign!!!!!!! How could play testers not see this! It was already tedious in ME1!

excellent points by OP, but seems its not only us having difficulties with tweaking to get our faces just right, Bioware themselves could have made bit more effort with a couple of characters especially Jawbone Miranda

Yeah, just from the title alone I'll give a /sign. One of the worst aspects of ME2. It's almost like they JUST WANTED YOU TO SEE THEIR PRETTY OPENING MOVIE SO BAD. Please don't look away, it's beautiful!

i agree especially with OP's #6. i can never get the nose right on ME, but in DA, I can create absolutely beautiful females characters without any help (well, IMO only)

Not after the twelfth time seeing it. When people have to do something else besides look at your game because they've seen the same thing a dozen times, you've done something wrong.

It'd at least be nice if you could see your character's face in the opening movie, but noooo.

One thing I feel is worth mentioning (again): For god's sake please let us do more than the assigned angles for face previews (You know, like you do with Dragon Age?) Several times I've created a face that's looked okay, but only from those angles; once I'm ingame, it can look awful. Ugly Shepard is perhaps an extreme example-from the front it looks okay but what a trainwreck from any other angle!

That's the ideal solution, but I doubt we'll see that patched into ME2. It really needs to happen in ME3, though.
The easiest fix would be to just insert an autosave before the face creator, as has already been suggested here. Not that I know anything about it, but couldn't that be done with a patch? That, and make the damn cutscenes skippable. Seriously, the first time I saw it, I thought the opening to ME2 was some of the most powerful stuff I've seen in a videogame, but I've since come to hate it.

I'd rather pay money for this and a helmet toggle over some duct tape eye-wear lol

The unskippable intro annoys me greatly. It's really not necessary.

they are horrible Bioware please patch in a skip cutscene for the intro the fact that they cut the cutscene up with the little playable part that you can not affect teh out come of one bit is really annoying to because first play through sure its fun 22nd not so much.

I always use default faces but I'm 100% with you, it must be really frustrating to be bored to death through the prologue just to fix your face. An auto save just before the face creation interface would be great.

Agreed with this thread. It was enough of an issue in ME1 that I gave up creating my own faces. In ME2 the intro is MUCH longer.
I honestly thought the med bay upgrade would allow you to get a few tweaks. Alas no.

Its not perfect but much better than ME1. I'm able to move the face around and see how to make the final adjustments. I'm not complaining. They have improved. Still I miss the scars..

It's too bad they didn't come up with a ME2 Character Creator a la Dragon Age: Origins.

This gets my support! I imported my character as well but if I were actually given the chance to tweak her face I would tone down the makeup intensity and nick a little off the chin. Minor problems, really, and they are not apparent until my character is shown in a certain way that the lousy face-generator cannot account for. It would be nice to know that I can create an exact copy of my original Shepard without having to wait through cutscenes. I just have to hope that none of my saves from both games become corrupt over the next couple of years.

Absolutely no excuse for an unskippable intro that lasts 11 minutes. Unskippable cutscenes have been widely regarding as one of the most annoying game mechanics for the last 15 years. No excuse for this given our current technology.
