I used the Pulse Rifle for a bit after getting myself AR training on my Sent. Equipped it immediately on the Collector ship and frankly I found it kinda lacked. My SMG killed the Collectors more efficiently, even at range. I switched to the vindicator after that mission and can safely say I think the vindicator is WAY better.

Oh don't be a sissy, just bring the Cain and don't miss.:P

I brought the Cain with me at 145, on Hardcore. It took down the shields and half the armor, and then it hunkered down and repaired. The nuke, it did nothing! :o

I played through Tali's recuritment mission last night on hardcore (lost count of how many times I died, usually from silly mistakes) It was a nice challange and the payoff was good (the geth pulse rifle which is my soilder's new best friend drops Korgon with ease)

As for the Colossess boss fight at the end, as far as boss fights go it's not hard once you understand how it works. That said I wouldn't want to play the entire game on hardcore.

GPR is better than the Revenant because it was in ME1 and brings back sweet memories.

Also Legion, objectively the GPR is better then the Collector Assault Rifle since it can pierce both shields and barriers.

Yes, it is at the very end after you take down the colossus. Be sure to pick it up before talking to Tali and completing the mission.

It is a bit weak against armor but it rips through shields and has good accuracy and ammo reserves.

Confirmed, adding support

to kill it you have got to flank it

if you get up the back to either side of it theres plenty of cover, team mates help fith the fodder and the geth-giraffe-turtle hybrid gets nuked in the face and dies but remember it repairs unless your up close so take a nice powerful backup ar or smg

As long as it's hardcore when you start the mission it will be there, you can turn it up before and turn it down after if you don't want to "waste time" on hardcore.

Wait.... You can do that? I thought it had to be on Hardcore+ for the whole mission?

I don't really care about difficulty... But if you can get away with starting on Hard and then switching to Normal after you land, I'm gonna do that from now on.

You misread. You have to be in hardcore for the whole mission, but you *don't* have to be in Hardcore for the whole game, is what he's saying.

I always run up the left hand side, leaving my team mates miranda and zaeed to soak up the geth in the center, keep moving fast up the left, as Karl Reeger will die otherwise (if your not a **** and told him to hide). Once I get to the last courner befor collosus. I whip out the electricity heavy wep. electrify the geth destroyer or whatever it is, and then start pumping HW rounds into the collosus, normally finishing it off with squad powers and AR spam.

never gone the other ways, left way has always provided better cover, its a mad dash, but just dont get pinned down, screw the incomming fire and run untill the geth are litterally blocking your way, then get down and kill asap.

is rewarding to walk into that room, get a GPR and then also have ol Karl walk in as well ^^

You got to have Collector Edition of Mass Effect 2.
Or download some DLC if you have ME2 on PS3.

EDIT#1

Woops, didn't noticed necro.

The Collector Assault Rifle  was available for people who purchased the collectors edition of Mass Effect 2 on either the X360 or PC. As far as I can tell, it is not available on the PS3 version, though it may be through DLC at a later date.

Its DLC content, 7.99 for all the weapon packs or 1.99 for just the collector armor and the Collector Assault Rifle.

I know.. I did the cheat by switching to Insane when I landed on tali's planet.. Geth Collosus..It's just not worth it.. NO GUN IS WORTH THAT!

Oh don't be a sissy, just bring the Cain and don't miss.:P

That tactic doesn't work on insanity- IT LIVES.

Its good for stripping shields of the Praetorians, but you will need the incendirary ammo power if you want to do any measurable damage to its health. If you get it, better off giving to your henchmen who can use it.

If you get it, give it to Garrus, Grunt or Zaeed. They strip the shields with their unlimited ammo weapons and you got yourself the biggest ammo saver in the game.

Garrus and Zaeed sporting GPR + squad disruptor ammo and they'll be stripping shields, jamming weapons, and stunning mechs like nobody's business. The rate of fire on the GPR makes it a killer disruptor weapon, should you need something for that application.

Really though once the Mattock came out there has been no reason to equip anything but that on all your AR users.
