So I have a nice sword and shield, named items and all, and I switch to controlling morrigan for a stretch. The game autosaves, a cutscene plays, and in the next fight I notice my hero is fighting barehanded. Both the equipped items disappeared, and aren't in my inventory. Last save before this is from about an hour before, and I really don't want to have to fight several hard battles again just to et back the stuff I already had.

I had this many times happen, also with quest items needed to finish the main plot.

This is very quickly killing my love for this game. I have just barely gotten past my origin sequence -- leaving Ostagar with my party of four for the first time -- and I have had to re-load three times after the initial encounter with wolves, because my main character's good bow vanished during the fight.

Now I am feeling paranoid and checking everyone's equipment obsessively after each fight, and all of the fun is draining out. If there is no fix for this soon, I'm going to lose interest. I see a lot of forum posts about similar issues, so Bioware have to be aware of the problem... Please guys, do something about this? Thanks.

Edited to add:
Oh.  I withdraw my complaint.

Playing very carefully in order to determine exactly when the problem was happening, I found that it was when my character was attacked up close, and switched from bow to melee weapons.  The game was swapping out weapon sets, a mechanic I was not familiar with from any previous game.  After combat, the bow was in the weapon set #1 and I did not see it in my own inventory or in party inventory...  And I assumed that it had vanished, an assumption seemingly confirmed by the many posts about disappearing items I saw here.

In other words...  Never mind.

"As someone who bought the game, it really is frustrating when pirates get a better gaming experience."

This is a real problem, not just a bow hallucination.

It happened to me just now. The reason it happens is that the game sometimes can't connect to the server, and if that happens it assumes that you are a pirate. I lost about 3 hours of game play due to this, plus however long it takes me to figure out what I did during that 3 hours so I don't forget to do it again.

As someone who bought the game and both DLC's, I'm offended that the game can't find a way to give a paying customer the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah. I have had to replay parts of the game many times now, as I played for an hour and then realise that one of my party members is missing an premium content item that did not load properly. It was okay when I had Alistair wearing the Warden Commander Armour, because I'd notice right away that he was only wearing his "smallclothes". However, now that he has better armour, it's harder to notice, and I have to go back to my last save before the items went missing :( :( :(.

On top of this, I'm having items disappear out of the party storage chest at Warden's Keep. Graar.
