I gave Zev lots of bones because I didn't have anything else to give me, and he asked about Leliana and I. I ended up having to choose her, and he says "That's how it always goes." Sad.

One of the devs (Cory May IIRC?) got Alistair, Lel, and Zev on the same night.... but there were reprecussions.

I'm not sure, however when my fem elf went after Zev, and had not stopped leading Leliana on, the conversation with Leliana relating to the aforementioned "massage" scene included an option that was something along the lines of, "I'm sure Zev wouldn't be opposed to you joining the fun." I didn't pick it...but now I wonder...

Zevie is the EASIEST lay in the game!  No need for romance with him.  It only took about 25 approval to get in sack.  I barely had to try.  Boring!

At least you can tell him right after that it was only a one time thing.

The butthurt he caused me lasted longer than his romance

Not as far as I can tell!  Or, if you can, there's no scene or description of it - or, indeed, any reference to it.  Pity.  My character could've used a good massage!    I didn't want to be all-taker, but if you don't want your character to sleep with him there doesn't seem to be the choice to, say, offer him a nice massage in return.  I would have been fine with that! 

One of my characters did go along with Zevran's invitation on one playthrough, though, and I thought the love scene was actually very nice.  But I couldn't stand Alistair being jealous, so I reloaded. 

In general, by the way, I would rank Ali as having the cutest invitation scene, Zev as having the nicest love scene, and Leli as having the best morning-after scene (by a mile - it was so sweet!).  I haven't tried Morri yet, though, as I haven't taken a male character past Ostagar so far.

I do find it hilarious that someone couldn't see the sex coming, though.  (Sorry, OP.)  I mean, Zev does explicitly mention things going further than a massage.  What else could he have meant, considering all the previous flirty banter?  Though I have no idea how different his romance might be with a male character...  Is it less obvious?

I meant the opposite - my character might want the massage without the smecksy time.  That armor can get mighty uncomfortable after days of walking and fighting in it.  I suspect that this is not possible, however.  Alas!  Too bad for me.

If you have a male character, when Zevran told your character he found him attractive did you respond positively?  If not, I think he backs off. 

Edit:  I believe this is the case for female characters as well.

From what I read in different threads, Zevran's relationship works the opposite of Alistair's : Alistair falls in love pretty fast with the PC but is long to accept a sweet moment in the tent together wheareas Zevran is quick to share a tent with the PC but long to developp true love for her... Have to try to romance him in my next game, when I'll play with a dalish elven lady.
