I was a little disappointed by the Dermal Regeneration upgrade.
It healed my scars (which was cool) but I really didn't need that - I play massive Paragon and my face would have been baby-smooth regardless.
The real reason I spent 50,000 Platinum on facial repair equipment was that my good buddy Garrus had just had his face turned into hamburger and I hoped if I bought the upgrade we could BOTH make use of it. I hoped for a dialog option with Garrus or Chakwas and voila!, back to the original character model. That's me, takin' care of my buddy instead of spending precious resources solely for my own vanity... Anyway, I was a little disappointed I didn't have that option.
(I presume Garrus' disfigurement factors into his romance dialog, but since my male Shepard didn't romance him that wasn't a factor - for me.)

What a team player, this guy!
Yeah, it is a shame you can't get ol' Garry up on the dermal regenerator, but honestly I think he looks cooler with the scarring and he knows it. That sexy beast.

I really wish you could fix his face up. When he got shot up by the gunship I was like "NO! He's gonna die! What did I do wrong?!"
Now he's got that dorky earmuff on the right side of his head. A prosthetic turian ear I presume. Still really dorky.

It probably only works on humans, considering their skin looks more like chitin than actual skin.
What I'm wondering is why the hell he's still walking around in that banged up piece of **** armor.

I am glad that I wasn't the only one who was thinking along those lines when I dropped 50k for that woefully useless upgrade.

Man... Garrus never wanted to get healed. Remember, he wants YOU to get all the chicks now right?
Love you Garrus

Couldn't his new outfit be fixed at least?
Nope, Bioware had to save polygons and only made a new texture.... : (

I thought it'd be cool, but I was sure it wouldn't work. I bought it anyway just to say I had all the upgrades. I second the question why he still walks around in the armor that got beat up. Wouldn't they need to cut it off of him to operate in the first place?

Lol that was an interesting thought.
What intrigues me regarding Garrus is when you do his loyalty mission, and you get a second set of armour for him... Why is the "new" armour damaged like the old one?
Just a thought.

I bought it with the same hope. I was rather disappointed to find out it did nothing for Garrus.
What's up Bioware?

The scarring was fine, I hardly notice it. But I will repeat that yes, he shouldn't be wearing that busted up armor. It looks terrible.

This as well. Hell, I would have been fine if the second set was just the non-damaged version of the same armor.

why is garrus's new outfit just a paint job? did he even take off the armor to paint it? thats worse then the quarians and their suits, atleast they fix them

it's just so the simulation team has it easier, if you look at it from that perpective they left the hole so that they could use the same animations as the other characters (possibly).
don't know why they left his face like that though.

Yeah, the damaged armor and the fact that I basically wasted 50,000 platinum on a cosmetic procedure for myself really irritated me. Sadly, I doubt Bioware will be kind enough to give us a DLC pack where we can heal Garrus. I know I'd do a second New Game+ to get Garrus's face fixed.

i was thinkin there may have been a slim chance, that it might be needed for one of your characters as a result of the suicide mission so i got it just in case, not like i didn't have enough resources 200k+ on all but Element Zero.

I actually thought you could fix Garrus as well, I thought it was so intuitive it should have worked... guess not. Kind of like trying to get Fawkes to go in the reactor at the end of Fallout 3 GODDAMN DO IT STUPID

Because Cerberus is a pro-human group and when Shep asked for the funding to get some better Turian armor for Garrus, Miranda shut him down. Something about how the cost for space cigarettes are going up and TIM can't just be blowing money on every little whim.

...could've spent the platinum on some new armor for Garrus at least huh?
