I think Legion should definantly be a Squad member in ME3, here are a few reasons.

1) He's really rare, an original robotic character, most (all?) robot characters in games/movies want to kill and destroy all humans/people/etc, Legion and his Geth don't.
2) He's interesting and has the most badass and awesome robot voice ever.
3) He has a really awesome flashlight head that Bioware did a good job animating/creating, it would be a waste to never use that work again.
4) He does the robot.
5) He's geth.
6) He has the best sniper rifle ever made.
7) He's so badass that not even a large hole in his torse can stop him.
8) A Geth Infilitrator with a really big and deadly sniper rifle is a great addition to any team trying to save all life from giant flying space fish.

Legion was a compelling character in conversations on the Normandy - an awesome look into Geth society.

metallic giant flying space fish with awesome voices*

But, I agree. My guess is that he'll play a role similar to an ambassador between the Geth and the organics.

Exactly, I talked the hell out of him before and after the final mission, and learned SO much of geth society and culture. I don't think that they will remove him in ME3, as he could be a key player in the Galaxy Vs Reapers war, possibly by bringing in the massive geth force for assistance.

Thats all just speculation, but it is logical.

This!
I couldn't get enough of talking to him, even if I've heard it twice. Now I just watch him do the robot every now and then. I lol every time.

I'm thinking that in the final game, we might recruit entire races against the Reapers.

The Geth/Quarian conflict would be a big part in this, if so.

I'm hoping this will be a big quest for preperation for the Reapers. You know, the Flotilla and Geth will end up working together to help battle the Reapers. Maybe the geth will even give the Quarians their planet back.
But one thing is for sure: both Legion and Tali will be big players IF this happens.

Legion should definitely stay in ME3. He was the least explored character in ME2, and he could be of major importance to the central plot, no matter whether your Paragon or Renegade. Tali is another character that is like this. I mean.. all the aliens should be important in some way. Especially in convincing their respective races to lend aid to Shepard against the Reapers. Wrex leading a Genophage free Krogen. Tali becoming an Admiral of the Migrant Fleet (or at least becoming extremely influential). Legion convincing the Geth to join the organics in intergalactic diplomacy (and in fighting the Old Machines). Garrus and Mordin are the weakest links but considering that Garrus was sort of a top agent of C-Sec and that Mordin was a special forces agent, their words should hold at least some weight on their respective worlds.

I'm thinking it would be awesome if there was a huge fleet battle, that you direct with dialogue from the Normandy.

So choose 'send in the Destiny Ascension' if you recruited the asari, etc.

There could be a ton of recruitment missions:

- Asari gov

- Salarian gov (Capt Kirrahe?)

- Turian gov (human/turian tensions)

- Quarian fleet (fighting war with geth, either end it, or make one side win)

- Geth fleet (fighting war with quarians, either end it, or make one side win)

- Batarians (maybe, but lots of beef with humans)

- Rachni fleet (if you saved them in ME1)

- Some new unknown isolationist Terminus Systems race

Three disks = first one for intro + second for recruiting missions + third for the final battles and epic ending = wet dream.

I am hoping at least one of the DLC releases further explores Legion and the Geth.

Legion is decent. He can return as long as I get Garrus and Miranda too.

That would be great, I hope Bioware makes something like that.

If they do something like this, they'll have more room for even greater awesomeness for ME3.

Even if he dies he could come back. After all, he is just geth. They are all geth.

He could even be made to have N7 armor on the other side, and you'll really confront him about why he keeps wearing your armor.

I had fun bringing Legion onto the Quarian Flotilla during the Tali loyalty mission. Although retaking the quarian ship part off that was abit easy with two best anti synthetic characters in the game in my party :P

And then there's the EPIC FAIL comment from that c-sec chick at the entrance to the citadel. My guess is, she'd never even seen an actual geth.

I cant see how they would justify removing Legion from your party or ship :P

He spent what, 2 or 3 years trying to track you across part of the known galaxy and he finally catches up with you only to rush away to do something else?
