I didnt trust Legion. He is still laying inactive in the ship even after I beat ME2. I just couldn't see me siding with him after all that Tali went through with her father.

so sue me:)

If ME2 had a Ashely/Kaiden like death choice between Tali and Legion I would have chosn death for Tali in less than 0.001 picoseconds.

*charging shields*

Ok, I did feel slightly guilty about typing that...

That would have been a tough choice, I would have chose Legion though.

Man I hope he's on the team in ME3. I really think Legion is the most ground-shaking, game-changing person in ME2. After you talk to him, it totally changes the way I/Shepard see's the universe and its civilizations. I mean learning that the geth you fought in ME1 were only a small faction(5%) of the total geth population. And that the rest of the geth agree with what your doing...That's game/Story changing. I foresee it being a huge thing in ME3.

Something Legion said to me when I talked with him about the Geth actually influenced my decision concerning the fate of the Collector base in the endgame. By inclination, I would be sorely tempted considering how terrifying Reapers are to agree with TIM and EMP the place to salvage tech from it. Legion, however, said earlier that one error of the "heretic" Geth is that they are relying on Reaper tech to develop instead of following their own path. He also reminded me of what Sovereign said back in ME:1... that by using the Relays and the Citadel , organic life develops along the lines that the Reapers want. Our dependence on Reaper tech is perhaps their greatest weapon against us.
Examples:
  • The Citadel is a huge Reaper ME Relay.
  • Reapers can directly control cybernetic organisms with Reaper-tech installed: Saren, Harbinger.
  • The IFF drive virus.
  • Using Sovereign as a ship...Indoctrination.
  • Reaper instigation of the Rachni War.
I think Legion is on to something. The Reapers are terrified of the unpredictable. They have been using organic civilizations as a means of reproduction for eons. If we, predictably, try and use their tech against them, they still have some control over how we develop or try to challenge them.

That said, I thought it was a little out of character for Legion (who was in my team after I took the Reaper down) to present the choice as morally neutral.

Those are all good points, except I believe Harbringer is actually a Reaper. The Collector General had an image of a Reaper on his computer screen, and at the very end of the game in the final cutscene, you see Joker hand Shepard a datapad containing that same image.

You second point is absolutely correct, about how the Reapers can control cybernetic organisms, but I just wanted to bring the Harbringer thing to your attention.

Just a quick question for everyone else though, regarding Legion and the end of the game:

When you recruit Legion, I know you will have enough time to do his loyalty mission - then go through the Omega 4 Relay and save ALL of the Normandy crew.

However, will you have enough time to do his, AND Tali's loyalty missions - AND save the entire crew? I missed out on the whole Legion/Flotilla thing.

You have just enought time to do both loyalty mission. I finished my 2nd playthrough this way.  After doing the Reaper IFF missiion I was able to do two missions befor it activated causing the colectors to attack the Normandy.

I hope Legion makes it to ME3. I really want to delve more into the Geth and Legion himself.

I found Legion to be the great surprise in the end of the game... I didn't know he was there (didn't see the teaser either)... so when I got him in the team, I talked a lot about all things Geth with him. Very VERY cool! Definitely has my vote for ME3

ya, i liked legion a lot. just sucks that you get him so late in the game. im sure (if he survived the suicide mission) that he will play some integral role in me3, probably acting as a proctor to the (hinted at) geth/quarian struggle. im sure tali and legion will both be instrumental around that aspect of the third installment.

i mean hell, with the paragon check, tali and legion both set aside their differences to work together. albeit im sure tali still doesnt trust legion or his intentions, but, they did cooperate with each other, and tali said she can see legions reasons for uploading data to the geth collective.

if small things like this are any indication of what to expect in me3, me3 is going to blow other games out of the water for years to come, and possibly rewrite the whole genre (again).

Legion was the only character they put in the first ME2 trailer, I was hoping he would have been someone recruitable early in the game.
