(Might Contain some spoilers as to the Ending)
TL:DR version

Sign this petition if you feel that Mass Effect 2 deserves a proper expansion pack which takes place after the events of the Collector Base in order to further character development and to avoid a “rushed” feeling in Mass Effect 3. Now is the time to do so and Bioware have been known to listen to their community so if enough people show interest in this proposal, I believe it will be successful. Please sign that you are willing to pay for such an expansion pack as Bioware will be more inclined to put it into production, if decent interest is shown.

This expansion pack will be along the lines of Dragon Age Origins: Awakening, with 15+ hours of game play; such as new personal missions, side quests and a proper over-arching story to set up for Mass Effect 3. This is different from traditional DLC as DLC are basically bits and pieces of a story, rarely having any clear coherency. We want a coherent new mission along with post-Collector Base continuation. (I am aware of the “from a free item all the way up to paid stuff and potentially [I don’t like this word] larger packs that tell a big portion of the story” quote from Casey Hudson, but this Expansion Pack is calling for a coherent, major mission.)

Many of us feel that Mass Effect 2 is one of the best games ever, but had too much content which was not fleshed out before the conclusion of the story such as late introduction party members (esp. Legion and Morinth/Samara) and there were very few side stories especially when compared to Mass Effect 1. Also we fear Mass Effect 3 will feel extremely rushed, as they will be too much content to cover (From the Reapers to the new characters to the old characters to the illusive man etc). So we are proposing that Bioware provides a fitting send-off to the cast of Mass Effect 2 and a set-up to the next game which does not feel as rushed as the one in Mass Effect 2. This will make the fans extremely happy and avoid a potentially rushed Mass Effect 3.

Many of us are willing to pay the $30 to $40 dollars and Electronic Arts will make at least a decent profit on such a venture and will satisfy the fans whom are nowas we speak, lusting for more of Mass Effect 2. I will be bumping this thread over the next couple of weeks and sharing my insights, why it makes good sense
to the players and why it makes good commercial sense to Bioware to release such an expansion.

Why petition some thing that is already in the works.

Heck yes I'd take an expansion pack. I would happily spend money for a 5 - 10 hour expansion post-suicide mission. It probably won't be that long, but hey, everyone can dream right?

A expansion for ME2 would be great, I hope one is made.

We don't know that, and if most previous DLC goes, it'll be bits and pieces of seperated non-coherent story elements. And mostly inconsequencial.

I would love an expansion - but only if it doesn't affect the time frame for ME3.

Where does it say an expansion is being planned?

I hope it is. But its in the planning stage, and planning stage can lead to cancellation if normal, more incoherent DLC is found to be more "popular". So if you want it to be produced, sign the petition.

an expansion pack of that magnitude would be absolutly amazing! although i would also accept mass effect 3 being placed onto about 6 discs as well, just like in the old days. except this time the 6 discs are actually worth it

I would totally pay 30 dollars for 15 more hours. I've paid more than that for shorter games.

Someone mentioned ME3 being 6 disks. I'd be so happy if that were the case. I'd love to see a 200 hour ME game. Seriously.

Terrible idea. They need to finish ME3 sooner rather than later.

yeah but would you rather ME3 feel rushed and the ME2 cast gets thrown to the side? Think about it, lets say 3 characters come back from ME1 and 4-5 come back from ME2. Then the remaining characters are cameos. That would be horrible as i felt that you barely got to know some of the characters in ME2 before the game ends. Id be happy to wait another 5-6 months for them to get ME3 than be disappointed that some of my favorite characters get glossed over in the sequel due to time constraints. And its a win-win as in the expansion, the ME2 characters and story can be expanded upon.

only if the expansion deals with the pure Geth and the Quarians. solving that problem deserves quite a bit of attention and i would not want to see it crammed into some minor side quest in ME3.
