Bridge the gap between the two games. Nice idea.

I want a few more missions like the assault on the collector base (choose who does what) at least. I want the DLC characters to have convo wheels. and I want more stuff to talk about with my crew. Maybe some more character-based missions lie bounty hunting with Zaeed, or assainating some bad guy with Thane, maybe a master heist/jailbreak with Kasumi? (something along those lines with each squadmate.) Those are the things that HAVE to be in the expansion pack at least.

i am all for this, need a reason to pick up Mass Effect 2 again because the little DLC's are good but they are over in a hour, just want at least one good full expansion that builds the bridge between ME2 and ME3 with at least 15+ hours of game play

agreed! BioWare, if you guys have time, make an expansion that changes whether the team survived the SM or not, one that increases dialogue between characters, deepens romances (if they are pursued in ME2). Considering how much DLC costs, I would much rather pay 20-40$ for a full expansion that offers 10-20 hours of gameplay than having to buy Xbox live, plus some points, to buy all the downloadable content. Kasumi and Zaeed's quests cost 7$ each!! If you saved whatever downloadable content that is coming, and put it toward an expansion pack, that would be awesome.
Make the ME2 and ME3 DLC bridge quests into an expansion pack for the rest of us! Please! No fancy cases, just a paper-thin CD cover will do (to save costs and all), explaining quests and whatnot.

Agreed, but I have the feeling that BioWare is already working on an actual expansion pack rather than just DLCs, we all saw that the idea of expansion packs isn't dead in BioWare's minds since we got Awakening for Dragon Age: Origins (granted, it could have been much better, but still, it was lengthy and complex enough to be an expansion pack as it was labeled to be, and I liked it overall nonetheless), I wouldn't see why ME2 wouldn't get a proper expansion pack, or at worst we'll get a number of DLCs before ME3 comes out, in the end all the DLCs combined together pretty much equal an expansion pack in terms of content, but perhaps the story-telling remains to be detailed and structured better to link ME2 to ME3.

I'll sign it...but only if Bioware were to follow the term "Expansion pack" to the tee. Instead of creating a whole new storyline outside of the original game's plot (ala Dragon Age Awakening), expand on the overall gaming experience of ME2 itself.
More main missions. More squadmate interaction. More squadmate conversational dialogue. More side quests. More suicide mission legs. More powers. You know. Actually "more" ME2.

I think the Normandy and its crew have a few more collectors to destroy before ME3. Although after ME2's SM, having another "suicide mission," would take away it's finality. Maybe more of having to rally the races in an expansion pack, or helping solve the genophage or seeing the ramifications of rewriting/destroying heretic geth. Perhaps they could put in more cool armor. Or bonus weapons.
And, to simplify development, BioWare doesn't need to bring in new characters. There are already plenty from ME2! It just makes it more complicated on who to ditch/bring over in ME3. BioWare could focus more on character development of the (remaining) squadmates in an expansion pack. More dialogue/cutscenes/recognition that Shepard is in a romance with one of the crew.
I said between 10-20 hours before, but 20 should be the minimum; at least that's how long it took me to play through ME1. I bought ME1 for around $40, and that's how much DA:A costs right now, and I think that's how much extra game time it gives DA. It would be a nice tide-over into ME3, because I really can't wait until Q3 or Q4 of 2011.

a proper expansion pack? Sure, why not. Mind you I'd buy almost any DLC for ME2 anyway. It's the only non MMO game in which I have done.
