I'd pay good money for more plot-heavy Mass Effect.

What does this expansion contain?

Twice as many SquadMembers? Twice the size of Normandy to fit the extra characters? :D

Keep the support coming. Remember if you want it, you have to say that you want it. I think we are in the majority when saying that Mass Effect is one of the greatest series ever made. But we don't want a rushed sequel and a sizeable expansion pack will be able to do justice to the ME2 crew and prevent the sequel from becoming one big rush job. Its a win-win for the fans and Bioware IMHO.

@Kwonnern- no :) Basically a continuation of the characters we currently have and giving them more depth. Basically more of the same cake with some new cherries on top. But its gotta be a big serving. Mmmmmm cake.

Just as I did for ME1, I would and will buy any and all extra content for ME2. I do agree, though, that some proper post-endgame stories would be wonderful. Either something self-contained but chunky, or something that hinted at things to come in ME3 (i.e. something akin to the Eye of the North expansion for Guild Wars).

Yeah, I agree. If they release an expansion pack like we are talking about, it will allow them to pack some of the quests in there that they likely wouldn't have time to address in ME3. Like others said, a perfect example would be the quarian/geth issue. Also, a quest pertaining to Thane such as helping Mordin find a cure. Just plot points that have been brought up in the series that would all together just be too much content to put in one game. I really want them to do the final installment right, and in that sense they should offload some of the minor plots to an expansion.

Think about it, the number of possible issues which will be in ME3 (off the top of my head):

1. ME1 Love interest

2. ME2 Love interest

3. Liara vs shadow broker

4. Wrex the krogan king trying to unite the clans

5. Tali getting exiled?

6. Quarians vs Geth

7. 3 ME1 squadmates and 3-5 ME2 squadmates each with their own quests

8. Getting the council on your side (finding evidence etc)

9. searching for ways to kill the reapers

10. Cure for Thane?

11. Legion vs the Heretics

12. Pissing off the illusive man or working with him?

13. New squadmates each with their own quest

Etc.

Right there is in my opinion waaaaay to much to be done right in one game. And one or more of these topics will be glossed over or concluded in a less than satisfying fashion.

I doubt that she would be in it (though fingers crossed she will be) but by tackling some of the other topics in an expansion pack would allow the developers to devote more time to ASH in ME3.

@ Engared - That list was actually a really nice visual aid. Looking at it that way pretty much seals the fact that they will take care of some of those things in the DLC. ME3 would be about 7 discs if they tried to cram all of those things into one game.

Yeah, but DLC normally is scattered and rarely coherent. If what they mean by "large packs" is Bring down the sky, then ill be very disappointed. Thus im calling for an expansion pack which ties together mulitple missions, planets, squad members etc.

To me bring down the sky is a small pack lol.

Yeah, I get what you're saying. It needs to be a fully-fledged expansion. More or less a bridge between the two games that will cover heaps of content that would most likely be skipped over or touched on VERY briefly in ME3.

Im just afraid that ME3's expectations will be so spectacularly high and people will be expecting so much content from it that even the mighty Bioware will be powerful to satisfy most of us. Thus an expansion pack will be able to satisfy at least some of those needs before the full blown ME3 hits us.

I would fork out the money for a serious ME2 expansion. Look at  DA:O it came out in the middle of November and they're allready making an expansion which should be out within 6 months of the origonals release. I can only hope they do something similar for ME2.

Besides theres too many lose ends for them not to do this.

Please Please Please Bioware make an expansion!

If it's like Bring Down the Sky, I'll likely not buy it this time. If it's like Pinnacle Station, I'm gonna totally pass it.

However, if it's an actual EXPANSION which, now that the Dossiers and Loyalty missions are over, along with the Suicide Mission... allows players to use our surviving team to its fullest to do awesome missions AND visiting cities only spoken of before (like the Turian homeworld), in order to bridge the gap between ME2 and ME3 (we don't have have 'Shepard died' excuse now) - I'M ALL FOR IT. Here's my $40 even.

Again, if its just some missions 'Zaeed Loyalty' style, w/e, I'm not paying for something I'll finish in 10-15 minutes and get no character or plot development for. Bioware better have more lines for squadmates ready... (despite the likely expensive voice actors)
