On an ongoing basis we plan to have the whole spectrum, from a free item all the way up to paid stuff and potentially larger packs that tell a big portion of the story. And we want to do that in a way that connects 'Mass Effect 2' to 'Mass Effect 3.' I think we'll be pretty close to the release of 'Mass Effect 3' before we really start focusing on that as the next story."
Thats from: http://multiplayerbl...-between-games/
So yes, there will be an expansion that links the two games.
My key problem with that quote is the word "potentially". And we do not know what does he mean by "larger" packs. I mean "larger" could mean, instead of one hour of game time, you get one and a half. So basically i started this "petition" to get people to support a LARGE expansion pack, so that their "larger" DLC packs are truely large and not incoherent one "large" mission set ups. Large to them might seem like BDTS, but that to me and many people here is a small or maybe medium sized pack at most.
Though i would honestly like an ex-pack on the lines with DA:O Awakenings 15 hours and thats what im calling for. If enough people want it, they will produce it.
Petitions won't do anything. They already have the DlC planned out for 2 years. You think they will make a 15 hour expansion for DA:O and not an equivalent, or even more content, for mass effect? They're going to do at least one expansion that bridges the story. Theres no doubt about that. You'll see.

Heh, we'll see about that. Just wanted to show them that we support one and that if they are on the fence on putting out a 10+hour DLC pack, that they should.

It's more by fear that, without a proper expansion, ME 3, which is supposed to be released in only 1 year, will feel rushed.
It would require a game with at least 50 hours of gameplay to treat correctly the story of mass effect 2,assumed that they really want to give to our decisions in ME 2 some real weight.
Unless they get in with a strong distorsion to the sotryline, they will have to deal with the conflict between Cerberus/Alliance,Collector base conserved / Collector base destroyed, Tali Zora and The Quorian involvement ; Wrex / Grunt and Rise of the Krogans ; Geth if you destroy them or rewrite them ; The truth about the Reapers (Between ME 1 and ME 2 we have made a baby step in our knowledge of them... I hope the whole revelation isn't to hard to handle for one episode) ; The Galaxy in fames; Thane's disease, etc. Impossible with a 25 hours game like ME 2.
Of course, If our actions here have the some consequences as saving or letting to die the council in ME 2, then a short game would do, hell, they wouldn't need more then 5 hours to explain us how the Reapers destroyed everything !
So yeah, I sign for a real expansion, coherent, independant, following the where mass effect 2 ended, or whatever they judge will lighten Mass effect 3.

(Might Contain some spoilers as to the Ending)
TL:DR version
Sign this petition if you feel that Mass Effect 2 deserves a proper expansion pack which takes place after the events of the Collector Base in order to further character development and to avoid a “rushed” feeling in Mass Effect 3. Now is the time to do so and Bioware have been known to listen to their community so if enough people show interest in this proposal, I believe it will be successful. Please sign that you are willing to pay for such an expansion pack as Bioware will be more inclined to put it into production, if decent interest is shown.
This expansion pack will be along the lines of Dragon Age Origins: Awakening, with 15+ hours of game play; such as new personal missions, side quests and a proper over-arching story to set up for Mass Effect 3. This is different from traditional DLC as DLC are basically bits and pieces of a story, rarely having any clear coherency. We want a coherent new mission along with post-Collector Base continuation. (I am aware of the “from a free item all the way up to paid stuff and potentially [I don’t like this word] larger packs that tell a big portion of the story” quote from Casey Hudson, but this Expansion Pack is calling for a coherent, major mission.)
Many of us feel that Mass Effect 2 is one of the best games ever, but had too much content which was not fleshed out before the conclusion of the story such as late introduction party members (esp. Legion and Morinth/Samara) and there were very few side stories especially when compared to Mass Effect 1. Also we fear Mass Effect 3 will feel extremely rushed, as they will be too much content to cover (From the Reapers to the new characters to the old characters to the illusive man etc). So we are proposing that Bioware provides a fitting send-off to the cast of Mass Effect 2 and a set-up to the next game which does not feel as rushed as the one in Mass Effect 2. This will make the fans extremely happy and avoid a potentially rushed Mass Effect 3.
Many of us are willing to pay the $30 to $40 dollars and Electronic Arts will make at least a decent profit on such a venture and will satisfy the fans whom are nowas we speak, lusting for more of Mass Effect 2. I will be bumping this thread over the next couple of weeks and sharing my insights, why it makes good sense
to the players and why it makes good commercial sense to Bioware to release such an expansion.

Terrible idea. They need to finish ME3 sooner rather than later.
No. I would rather wait for an extra year for the game to be Excellent than get it soon and have problems.

From helping Liara to deal with Shadow Broker to Doing some Specter missions again. Even a combat arena to test my skills for credits/honor would be awesome, like in KOTOR, like Provings in DA:O, but with more enemies, solo and squad.
Dam, sometimes I wish they would have an army of monkeys to do the programming, coding etc. So you could get DLC every week. Sadly, we live in a world, where monkeys are not trained to do that....yet.

(Also, a 200 hour ME3 is HELL! Replay value is killed once the game reaches a certain length... At least for me. Quality over quantity...)

I would like to see a major expansion pack, too. The biggest problem is how to make it optional, yet still fit it in the main storyline, somehow. If Bioware can manage this issue, I'm all for it.
Well, Have ME3 a year in the future, starting with someone watching a retrospective of what happened during the year/expansion pack.
Sign, I really want this.

However, there is a glaring problem they need to fix first:
MORE SQUAD POINTS!
I'm at max level and haven't been able to do much more then max out my squadmates innate characteristic and loyalty power.
Their other two powers are stuck at level 2.
As for my powers, I'm in much the same boat.
The one power (Adreniline rush) I want to max out is stuck at level 3.
Which is a shame, because I'm a frequent sniper and that level 4 time slow (where it almost stands still) could be very useful.
