I just started playing the original Mass Effect and I heard that i cannot transfer my Shepard data to the new Mass Effect 2 if I have transfered my xbox data to a new hard drive. I started playing ME on my old hard drive, and after transferring everything works fine, but am I going to be able to import my Shepard data to Mass Effect 2 when I finish playing the first game even if I have transfered my Hard Drive data?

From what I gathered:
If you use the Xbox transfer kit you should be fine as it copies the entire contents of the HDD.
If you transfer the saves using a MemCard there are problems as ME2 seems to be looking for some hidden autosave that is created at the end of ME1.
If you still play ME1 on your new HDD then the relevant saves will be created on the new HDD anyway, so I think you're fine.
