Any Liara works for me, as long as she returns. I will hope for a "Choice" and "Influence" story-line to go thru in ME3 as a chance for the player thru their actiosn to create/shape Liara to the one they'd prefer over the other.
With BW's past, I see nothing but good things from them on this part.

And yes. BW would be utterly insane, if they removed Liara as a playable/returning figure in ME3. Had to be said.

Yeah I am soooo tempted to adopt your sig, but I must remain loyal to my group and they love the other characters equally so I will keep my sig, but I like yours Image IPB I'm a Liara fan only too, but I did like Ashley for the record.

Delta, please don't feel like you have to use our group's signature bar.  If you want to use one that just advertises Liara, go right ahead.  You're under no obligation to pimp our group on the forum for us, OK?

BTW....... I'm pretty sure that most members don't love all the ME1 love interests equally.  We all have our favorites.  But back on the old forums, we found that it was a lot more fun to come together and chat under one banner than it was to stay walled off from eachother in separate "love" threads.

Then Evil Chris shut us down because our awesomeness was overloading the Bioware servers.

Hence..... the group.

I want sweet and just the smallest bit less innocent Liara back.  This "dark and edgy" Liara just didn't work, it was pretty laughable.

To your last point they removed her in ME2.  I won't count on it till I see it. <_<

I think the new Liara is just fine. She lost her best friend, made a new friend, lost him as well. But i hope she's in ME3 and I hope we get to help her take down the Shadow Broker

I'd prefer both. :)

But, I'm happy as long as she will be a squadmate in ME3.

^^ I agree with this.

I want the DLC only if it doesn't ruin her chance to be an ME3 squadmate.

@Shavon

Why don't you use TeenZombie's sig?  It's not as big as mine and it won't cut off your other link in the sig bar.

Oh okay, cool. I just wanted to make sure I was holding up the group banner proudly, but I sure would prefer to wave the Liara flag. But again, I did like Ashley so I will keep this sig, but I'll just add that Liara sig too... Thanks!

Liara's also just lost her mommy not to long ago.  She's lost a lot of people she's loved or was good friends with in recent years.  It's quite tragic.  Besides Benezia, Liara wasn't close to anyone before befriending Shepard and Feron.

Liara just lost everyone that was ever important to her... in just 2 years.  Image IPB

That is true... wow, my lady has been through quite a lot. See she needs someone to stay by her side, since she has given so much over the last two years and lost so much as well. She is almost empty, and she needs William Sheperd to run to the rescue. I'm here Liara, fear not!

I'm hoping Liara can find some peace by taking down the Shadow Broker.  I don't think she needs Shepard to rescue her, but having a loving companion in Shepard will surely help her find this peace quicker.

I will be very angry if I don't get an epic romance with Liara, for staying faithful to her. <3
She remains my favorite character in the series.

The only thing I didn't like was the complete lack of detail about your former romance with her. All that happens is that you kiss. Nothing more. She doesn't get any other unique dialogue based on that fact that she loves you. It was incredibly disappointing. Not only that, but there isn't even a few extra VO lines added for other characters when you reject them, so that you can tell them that Liara is the reason you're not interested in them. It seems like a very simple addition that would have made me much more satisfied with the fact that I can't have Liara as a squadmate. Telling Tali it's because of Liara, telling Kelly it's because of Liara. Haveing Kelly or any other character - especially former squadmates - acknowledging in some way the romance from ME1.

Also...I don't like how Liara would have gone to all that trouble just because you were friends. It's a little...depressing. I don't understand why it would have been difficult to change that for people who didn't romance her. I would have liked to see Liara developed a lot more, and have a lot more changes depending on whether or not you romanced her.

Yeah I got a little carried away with the rescued thing, but everyone needs a little rescuing at times. But I agree more than anything she needs someone to stand with her and support her. If that is what she needs, then that's what my Shep will be.

I agree.  Everyone needs the support of someone from time to time.  Escpecially Liara, who's been a loner her whole life and has been through a lot recently.

Though, because she's a loner, I can see Liara trying to deal with these things by herself and continuing to push Shepard away (as she was doing in ME2).

Yeah her personality does lend to the possibility that she is more apt to try to handle things alone rather than rely on others. I can see that being the case. But we can burrow through that outter shell and get to the Liara we know and love. To me this ME2 situation makes this while thing a little better because it makes the tension so much more.....well tense and that only means the release of tension will be wonderful once we break through. Can't wait.

I would prefer both Liara DLC and squaddie in ME3 as well. I don't see why both can't happen. Liara DLC, help her find the Shadow Broker, maybe talk about your relationship (okay, that's actually a must)--

Then Liara returns to your side in ME3, her quest over. :D

If Liara's a squad mate, will she get a cool outfit like the ME2 squad mates? I'm guessing 'yes' since I doubt BW will re-implement the ME1 squad mate armor system for ME3.

Anyways, what should it look like? I wouldn't mind Liara wearing something similar to the armor she wears in the Redemption comic.

Casey's comment about being able to track how many people cheat really scares me, especially when they've made it so difficult for most fans to find reasons to stay faithful.

I don't see how they could even consider it cheating at this point.  There is zero affirmation that a romance even occured in ME1.  Zero.  It will be kinda self serving when they come back with some sort of "data" and say "see we did the right thing removing the ME1 cast, people love the new ones" when that isn't the case at all.

My interpretation started with the whole desk photo issue. A very small, easily missable detail in the beginning. Its clearly there the whole game, but you get the cutscene if you remain loyal. Once a romance has been pursued in ME2 its flipped down on the desk. It seems pretty clear that the ME1 relationships were more than we are being let on to. Obviously Shepard and the LI had more time together after saving the Citadel. I think I have heard a few months before the Normandy blew up. Not to mention BioWare themselves said there will be repercussions. Now large or small is the question.

Was very disappointed that you couldn't acknowledge that you still had feelings for Liara in ME2, (if you so wished). Top of my 'want list' for ME3 is that she is available as your LI, if not for the squad. Oh, and ME1 Liara rules! 'Dark Side' Liara is just wrong...

Yep, I kept expecting some acknowledgment from Shepard, or really any of the squad mates, anything from turning down one of or all of the romances, to a snarky remark from Joker or even a throwaway line from one of the squad mates in tow. After all, didn’t BioWare defend itself to Fake News by saying it’s all about the relationship with your LI not the sex? Speaking of sex, did anyone cheat on Liara? I heard the “romance” cut aways went from PG to G, true?

I'm don't disagree, just saying BW went out of their way to make as little mention as possible that ME1 even had LI's.

There was one month between the Citadel battle and the Normandy's destruction.   Liara was still part of Shepard's crew during this time, so we can imagine they spent a great deal of their free time together (what else would they do stuck on a starship?)

People who didn't want anything serious from the ME1 LI's shouldn't have romanced them in the first place.  Events from the game and the game developers have made it very clear that the ME1 relationships were more than one night stands.  You don't keep pictures of one night stands with you.

I love the comic outfit, it's perfect!
