We were told that ME 1 love interests were held aside to keep them save.

I certainly hope they'll keep that promise. I already don't like several important (mainstreamed) changes in ME 2, but I guess those will stay. But if they don't at least bring back the old crew and romances as promised, I really can't see myself buying ME 3 new, I'll then rather wait for a reduced price.

GTFO, TALIMANCER!!!

lol, Just kidding...But really, prepared to be epically p.o.'d in Mass Effect 3. I'm betting that all the ME2 romances are getting sidelined :-/

I can't help it if I need more Tali :/

If it's the end of the Shepard story arc then I don't see why they would hold anyone back.  For all we know, Shepard will die for a certainty.

I want my sweet, innocent little Liara back.

My character has already been through three different kinds of hell, and the whole universe is going to **** right before his eyes...is it too much to ask for a tender Asari lover!?

I'm definitely inclined to agree with you. I feel like the ME2 romances were meant as a form of "bait". If you cheated the consequences with your ME LI will surface, if you stayed loyal you will be rewarded in some sense. Liara is the only character certain 100% to be alive. Tali could easily be dead for anyone. Liara has the greatest potential for a really developed story to be written.

Do people prefer the original, sweet and innocent flavor of Liara, or are you interested in the sequel’s, dark and edgier flavor of Liara?

I'd like a mixture of both.   Like, imagine taking Jack and Kelly and crushing them together.  That would be cool.

Oh, and I support Liara as a squadmate in ME3.

Nah, no tattooes.

Please Liara, no tattooes!!  Not that I have anything against them but they're not for Liara.

I like the new darker Liara, but way preferred her voice acting from the original.

I have a feeling Liara's storyline will be one of the most interesting things about ME3. Bring her on as a squadmate, please.

I will be very upset if she's not available as a squadmate in ME3. Liara's my favorite character and I really want to help her take down the Shadow Broker (especially since I think it will somehow tie-in to the plot of ME3). She is the only squadmate from both games guaranteed to be alive at the start of ME3, every other character can die so I think she's the one most likely to return.

Harbinger: Awaken Human-Reaper. You shall be called Assimilation, for you are a blend of the most diverse organic species we have found.

Assimilation: The f***?

Harbinger: As your consciousness expands, you will come to understand the universe as no other and soon—

Assimilation: Shut the f*** up. I didn’t come here to listen to a f****ing lecture. You chill in deep space while I explore the planet of kittens and lollipops.

Harbinger: There is no planet of kittens and lollipops.

Assimilation: Don’t jerk me around, dips***. I know there’s a mother****ing planet of kittens and lollipops and you’re going to tell me where it is RIGHT NOW or I’m going to go Shepard on your ugly, motherf****ing synthetic butt.

NO! I hate the new Liara, well not hate, but I loved Liara for her innocence in such dark times in the first game. Now she wants me to help murder others in an obsessive revenge story. She is not the Asari I fell in love with!

I don't think the two are mutually exclusive. I'd prefer a Liara who's original sweetness is still there but developed by the hardship of her life. In other words, both.

Exactly. Its unlikely BioWare will develop a complicated story for Tali in ME3. Too many people have the chance to kill her in the suicide mission. Liara has the best chance for a spot on the squad (or some other capacity).

I would be happy if she's brought back (as a squadmate) at all. I would prefer the original though. I'm not a fan of the way she's acting now.

I agree, for me, her story was very emotional. I was reminded Much about innocence and in mass effect 2 the lose of innocence. I really do hope that they take the time to make all the characters, especily Liara, fully developed. In terms of what i would hope they do for her character is to make her less dark than in ME 2 but not as innocente as in Me 1, here time hunting the shadow broker should affect her. To extend this a little, are there any other asari you guys want to see as squad mates or at least return in a role (larger or smaller ) for ME3. Personaly i would like to explore aria's backstory possibly even have her as a potential squadmate as well for me 3, idk. In My mind that would be an interesting juxtaposition, as the Liara of Me 1 is in essence the antithesis of aria
