All reason for an aweomse Liara expansion pack!

Liara DLC (that acknowledges romance) + Liara squadmate in ME3 = Bioware is forgiven.

Yeah.

I always felt until ME2 that Liara was the favored developer squadmate. She had a full mission planet, a unique love scene, the Redemption comics, and protection from death until ME3. After I saw what they did with her in ME2, that doesn't sound as realistic.

I liked BDtS too, and it felt really good to hear the news report about Kate Bowman taking part in a rememberance ceremony.

Yeah I would be 100% pissed if ME3 comees around and Liara has the same size role she has in this game. I will blow a gasket and might...just might NOT buy the game. I must say out of all the awesomeness that is the ME universe and trilogy, Liara is my favorite part of it. I say that in all seriousness, and if I can't interact with her to a huge degree in ME3, I will lose a lot of love for the writers of this trilogy.

I'm flat out not buying the game if Liara doesn't have a suitable role.  If I just want to play a shooter, there are better ones to buy.

but I don't see them leaving us hanging twice, so I'll remain optimistic.

Optimism leads to the dark side.

I personally would like to see her in ME3. Although the reunion would really be awkward because my Sheps love interest in ME2 is Miranda. The scenario would look something like this:

Liara: Hello Shepard! *KISS*
Miranda: Who the hell is this?!
Shephard: ...

:o

See, I don't think you will get a good reception by Liara if you romance Miranda in ME2. Somehow, I think they are going to make it quite heartbreaking.

I don't think that is the real issue here. She is your LI and there is no way to confront her with her deciion properly. I wish there was a some cool renegade option which I could use to dump her and that also prevents her mission. I certainly don't want her back in Me3. She went too far. Well... For pixels on my screen anyway. ;)

You would have prefered to have been given to the Collectors and turned into paste before being funneled through a tube into a giant robot?  That would have been a really short ME2 for you.

It doesn't matter what I "prefer". Liara sold or gave away the paragon Shepard to Cerberus. I understand that it is something BW planned. I am not stupid. I just don't want anything to do with her after that action. My Shepard will never trust her again. How hard is that to understand?

The Liara DLC could be something as involved as BDtS.  Liara and Shepard could travel to some remote planet, fight through a bunch of the SB's goons, storm some heavily guarded base, and rescue Feron from the SB.

Afterwards, Liara will ask Shepard if she can 'borrow' the Captain's Cabin for a few hours, since she hasn't seen Feron in years....

I always expect the worst.

Liara and Miranda actually know each other and are on a first name basis.  They'd probably team up and kill your Shepard.  Can you say, 'Critical Mission Failure'?

Hee hee...I do apologize for my pessimism.   ME2 has crushed all of my hopes for future ME products.  Especially when it comes to Dr. Liara T'Soni.

ME2 really made me dislike Liara, I'd like rather Subject Zero as a squad mate, or basically ANYBODY.

I don't think there is any doubt Liara will be a squadmate in ME3 :)

Now that is a great plan (except for the "borrowing" part lol). I think that would work great, other than the Feron part. Then in ME3 she remains in the squad, upgraded abilities and all and we take down the Reapers once and for all. This almost sounds too good to be true, but I hope they do it or something similar.

Personally I don't think anyone is trying to convert you. Have your choice and be cool, but we choose to use common sense in this Liara relationship. Plus we are not fly by night shippers. It's funny how even in real life, once Poop hits the fan, people want to ditch a relationship. Good luck with that philosophy of yours.

Yes, this would be the best way to handle it. I would like to see full production values going into the takedown of the SB so I'd keep that out of DLC. And just add some Liara-Shepard dialog in to make us happy. Don't just make it an email thing where she contacts on your private console and asks you to do it.

GAH!  What a blindside!  I didn't see that ending coming, J.
Your pessimism snuck up on me that time.

Didn't I read somewhere that the ME 2 writers changed at some point? Maybe that's the reason. Or maybe EA wanted BioWare to find a way out of the Liara romance after that shameful media campaign back then. Though that seems rather unlikely, as there are still romances with (this time ugly) aliens. And they already toned down the (already harmless) graphical depiction, which apparently was the main issue in that stupid media campaign. Last but not least there was never any need for a "scene" with Liara in ME 2, all that's needed was one or two additional lines to talk about the relationship.

Personally, I do think she is a BioWare favorite given the attention she has gotten. Truthfully given her role in ME2, I still believe she is a BioWare favorite. Why you ask?

1. She has a larger role in ME2 than any other ME1 LI.

2. She has a plot related dilemma. (SB)

3. She has a comic book that ties into ME2 so in reality she has a larger ME2 role than we think

4. It appears she might have DLC on the way.

Casey even stated his affinity for Liara in an interview. So I think BioWare LOVES Liara too.

The Liara artist at BioWare loves her as he mentioned too (well at least he loves the Asari as a whole)

Delta.... If I send you a pre-paid Fedex box, could you pack up some of your optimism and ship it back to me?  I could really use some, and you seem to have an abundance of it.

Haha, yeah I could use some too.  ME2 seemed to sap all optimism for the trilogy out of me. :pinched:

I think Liara is still the favored squadmate, I just think her storyline in ME2 suffers because it ties into the comic and they didn't want to spoil the entire comic which is why I'm more nclined to believe we'll get a Liara DLC after the comic has finished so we can fill in the gaps a little more than her brief dialogue does.

hmmm, when you put it that way, it seems even more plausible to think we'll get that DLC... hmmm...
