I think she will be back. I just have a feeling that having her changed personality/new motives/possible conflict with ME2 romances is just too good to pass up.

That's actually what I did with my Ashley romance. I will see how that turns out. But I will stay with Ash on that playthrough and do a seperate one with Miranda to see how that turns out in ME3.

I'm going to do one for all 3 at some point when I find time to do so.

Yeah I'm kinda curious as to how they all finish out as well. Time is not something I have a lot of though. This is a very odd day where I have nothing to do but rest. This is indeed fun, but I get back to making a lot of money tomorrow, so time will be scarce.

I do feel as well that Liara is considered quite a valuable and important character in the trilogy. After all, she's the only squadmate that's guaranteed to be alive by ME3, she melded with Shepard regardless of whether you romanced her or not, she was vital and necessary to finding Ilos and the Conduit, and she is instrumental in the main plot of the trilogy in that she was the one who recovered Shepard's body. Plus, she seems to have romantic feelings for Shepard, regardless of whether they are requited or not.

I just hope we get some DLC or something soon. I want to reaffirm the romance, dammit. It was so unsatisfying.

Of course she's important. Without Liara, Shepard is either a Reaper lab rat or silver goo.

I can't stand comics but I read the Redemption ones just so I could find out what the **** Bioware left out of ME2 in terms of explanation.

I can't blame you, but doesn't that suck that you can't just follow the story in the $60 game you just bought? It's double annoying for those of us that play a femShepard since the comic uses the stock male Shepard. For me it's like having an imposter playing the lead.

I don't want to defend the comic too much, but I don't think Shepard's gender has been mentioned. And considering his/her state, I don't think we'll see much.

Liara was in my party 100% of the time with Tali after I picked her up at the dig site, She is a very likeable character but since I had to replace her with Samara in ME2, I don't see why I would pick Liara in ME3 if Samara is available. Even though she isn't a scientific (something Liara doesn't seem to practice much since she's been running after the shadow broker anyway), she seems way more capable than Liara on a combat and experience level.

Yeah, that right. The comic has been quite careful so far to not
mention anything about Shepard, including gender. It never says "he",
it always says Shepard.
And in regard of the comic, I am enjoying
it so far, but I would rather prefer if we actually saw a deeper
storyline involving that in ME2. Even if Liara will be big in ME3, we
should get something before then. C'mon we fans waited years for ME2,
and now we need to wait years for ME3 to see Liara playing a bigger
role? It's tortune...

Ideally they will be bringing the whole cast of ME1+ME2 together. Probably with a starting section that forces you to choose like 10 outta the lineup or something?
But for my money, as long as they bring back Liara as playable, I'm happy. Obviously I would love to see more returning members but Liara is the main one for me :D

Logically though, they HAVE to bring her back. As she can be your main love interest all the way through, be pretty **** to have her as just a quest NPC in ME3. All LI's across both games will likely be present in playable form in ME3, or at least, this is my sincere hope.

Well, 2/3's of it anyway (presuming she is an LI in ME3 of course).

Although the moment is small, when she walks up to you and kisses you when you first see her in ME2, thats pretty much a continuation. I mean, it's not like she snubs you, it's just been 2 years and she has a lot of stuff on her plate. And you've hardly got free time or time to devote yourself to her mission...what with the impending extinction of humanity and/or all galactic life :P

But yeah, ME3 shouldn't have any new characters, just returning characters. Why build this impressive backstory for all these characters just to throw it/them away?

It's good to see so many Liara supporters. She's a wonderful character and she is indeed quite vital to the Trilogy, so BioWare seems to think so too. Unfortunately we have to deal with the short end of the stick in ME2, but I believe there is a DLC pack with her included. Let's not forget Casey not only personally endorsed Liara but he also gauranteed she'll be back in ME3. Happy times.

Oooo, where did Casey personally endorse Liara and guarantee to bring her back ME3? That fills me with hope and optimism! :D

well it was an interview he did before ME2 came out. He was asked what was his favorite character/alien race and he said "Liara", no kidding. I will dig and find the link soon if you need proof.

Also in a different interview, he specifically mentioned that the relationships from ME1 would return and be finalized.

Indeed there are a lot of dedicated & loyal fans in these forums. I just hope they don't muck up the DLC. The DLC has to be good and it should have some sort of recognition of the relationship she and Shepard have (that is if you have her as an LI) during the mission or somewhere at the end.

You can get them at TFAW.com, they ship globally.

Just dont expect to get it soon, unless you want to pay $70 for extreme express international delivery.
