I could imagine there actually being Liara DLC.
Since taking down the SB would not be like taking down your average gang member, it would probably take a long time.
I don't know if BioWare is planning on making ME3 a 100 hour game but if not, they are going to have continue the story in ME2 through DLC to make everything ready for ME3.
Continuation of Liara romance in DLC through ME3 are my hope!

They could lay the foundation for taking out the SB via DLC, then have it happen during an in-game ME3 quest.  There can be some other stuff that happens in between that we simply don't see.  It can be stuff Liara does on her own, minus Shepard.

We'll  I think we would all rather have it be with Shepard, but that's just my opinion. :P

I hope Liara will be a team-mate in ME3 too. In ME1 she was always with me !

Question : I read in the mass wikia we can have romance with her in ME2. Has someone ever do that ? I'm at Virmire in ME1, then I'll import my ME1 Liara's game (:P) in ME2, but I'd rather like someone tell me if it's possible :)

No, we have to wait till ME3 to continue the romance.  There is no (Liara) romance in ME2.

Wqt ? How do you know that ? Did Bioware say that we'll be able to continue the Liara's romance ?

And I don't understant "there is no romance in ME2".

You are quite right, I apologize, It is entirely possible there will be no Liara romance in ME3 as well.

Yeah, it was repeatedly said the romance could be continued in ME2. Now unless they already knew what DLC is to be released, thats a lie right there. In Liaras case, the only romantic acknowledgement is her presence at the start (because of the romance), the picture, and one half-hearted kiss.

Everything else treats it like nothing ever happened, and subsequently ruins a massive part of my character and made me lose interest in the squad. In short, when you pull crap like that, many people lose their "emotional investment" and arent "emotionally engaged" etc.

That's pretty much how the game played out for me.  I could still completely care less one way or the other about most of the new crew, nothing much that happened in the game really matters.  I'm basically just twiddling my thumbs waiting on either Liara DLC or info to start coming out about ME3 now.  ME2 might as well have never happened for my Shepard.

Same here. One of the most prominent memories I have of the ending for ME2 is getting the everyone survived achievement, and seeing the squadmates all alive at the end, and not giving a crap about any of them, not even Tali and Garrus (who due to not romancing, had next to no dialogue with Shepard on the Normandy).

Its actually kind of ironic that none of them actually survived the sucide mission for me. All of those characters are dead to me now, and the sooner we get Liara back, and some new characters in, the sooner I can actually start caring once more. ME2 for me was in many ways a chore. I really hope Biowares DLC plans can go a long way to improving the game in my eyes, but right now its easily inferior to ME1 for me.

I definitely want Shepard to help Liara in any DLC, and I want Liara to be a squad mate.   There can just be sometime in between (i.e. the time gap b/w ME2's ending and ME3's beginning) were Liara does some stuff while Shep is doing some other stuff.  We wouldn't notice it, as it wouldn't be part of any game or DLC.

My assumption on the" Liara as a romance in ME2" situation is just the whole idea of staying faithful. If you don't leave the relationship its still there right!
Image IPB

Not really the best scenario... I wish we got a better deal, but I am waiting to see how ME3 is handled. BW could really redeem themselves with that, and then we realize ME2 was just the great set up they needed. That's what I hope anyway.

My Shepard's feelings on the new squad:  She appreciates them and their aid.  She respects them.  However, she isn't as close to them as the old crew (Liara, Ashley, Kaidan (even though he's dead) etc).    There's just so many of them, and a lot of them don't have that much to say if you are not romancing them (as you've mentioned).  She probably gets along best with Samara and Mordin b/c they are awesome (and seem to have the most interesting dialog).

Its a shame too because so many parts of ME2 are vast improvements over ME1.  Without turning this into a "shooter-vs-rp thread" or a "I hate heatsinks thread" I thought the new combat mechanics, the new inventory systems, the increased proficiency BW has made with creating atmosphere and really cinematic cutscenes, the VA, the digital acting, all of it I thought were great improvements.  Yet the game wouldn't even rank in my personal top 15 games of all time simply because of the huge letdown with the characters and the story.

ME1 remains one of my all time 3 favorites though, even if I would find it hard to go back and play it now since the combat would feel so clunky. ^_^

I had all survive as well, and then at the end as we are walking past them while they check their gear, etc. all I was thinking was "They either start paying rent or its out the airlock".

I would let some stay, but some need to go so I can replace them with Liara, Ashley (or Kaidan), and Wrex.

Ironically, the ME2 squad mates I want to stay the most will probably just be cameos in ME3, knowing my luck.

Really the only one I cared about in my squad during ME2 was Garrus. The whole time the suicide mission was going I kept saying "Don't die Garrus!". Luckily he didn't, I think I would have been devastated. So if he is the only one to come back from ME2 squad (I'd say its a good chance), I would be fine with that. Replace the rest with Ash/Kaiden, Liara, and new people, or maybe a couple of the ME2 ones.

Yeah, I ain't buying ME3 if Garrus and Liara are not squad mates in the game.

For those of you wondering about a Liara DLC, there has been people who while they were attempting to mod found a "Liara_DLC" file near a Kasumi file. It would appear she is going to have a DLC after all.

I had Tali and Garrus both die during my latest playthrough. Tali was intentional (Boom, Headshot!), but Garrus died even tho he was in my squad. A good, short bit of digital acting there, when Shepard runs to his prone form and briefle closes his eyes and grimaces... Then he scrambled to Miranda (the LI), and was relieved to see she had survived.

I actually think the mission is better, if everyone doesn't make it. The very emotional engagement Bioware used to mention so often. But I like to RPG this way. I think that this particular Shep, who's now lost Ash (ME1 romance), Wrex, Tali, and Garrus, will end up losing Miranda, Liara, and Kaidan too in ME3 if its possible. Tragedy suits him, as far as I'm concerned. He will save the galaxy, but lose everyone he cares for.

I am with you on this.  Shepard needs some payback for what the SB has done to him and Liara.  Now that the collectors have been delt with I would like to see Sep go back to Liara and lay down the law on getting this done so she can be free and come back to the crew/bed room.  They still have 2 more characters to reveal with at least on mission that goes with them if they follow how everyone else was done.  I would love for it to be with Liara.  If they dont give the story to you this way they might keep it in comic format just like redemption.  Either way I am all for see this taken care of.

You know, considering the lengths Liara goes to save Shepard regardless of whether or not s/he romanced her, I kind of hope that it's possible for Shepard to romance her in ME3 regardless of whether s/he did in ME1.

In other words, it'd be cool if there were two Liara romances in ME3. A "continued from ME1" romance and a "new to ME3" romance.

Personally, I'd rather Liara be a major focus (Second only to Reapers) in ME3 than to have her sidelined in some 90 minute DLC. Don't get me wrong, I'd love a Liara DLC, but only if it continued in ME3.

That said, BW has invested a lot into the character. She's practically a posterchild for the first game, now has her own comic. Add that she has the most interesting story of any of the ME1 characters and I suspect Liara fans will not be disapointed w/ ME3.

Yes, I just opened up the 'CookedPC' folder and did a quick search.

There's this file 'twrhub_liara_dlc_lead_in_d_S_INT'   and then there is this file 'BioD_TwrHub_504LiaraDLC.pcc'.

Liara will not be the second biggest thing after the Reapers in ME3.

The best she could hope for would be the "female lead" role, which would be the female squaddie with the most content and most integral part in the story.

If we see Liara on the cover, yeah, then we can be reasonably sure we're all set. But it might very well be some new ME3 specific human female character. Just to continue the tradition begun with Ash and continued with Mirrers.

Even as just a normal squaddie tho, I bet most of us would be satisfied, provided they write her well this time.
